OH, MY!

A few weeks ago, I read  Cottleston Pie  where Bobbie included a link to a TED Talk on gratitude.

In his beautiful display of time lapse photography, Louie Schwartzberg, discussed the meaning of the words "OH, MY!"

The OH, means that something grabbed our attention and the MY means it connects to something inside us.

He also said that 80% of the information we receive comes to us from our eyes which explains why my favorite blogs have lots of pictures.

These are just a few of my "OH, MYs!" over the last few weeks.

Art@ Home

A brick wall provides the perfect background for fall flowers.

Junk Chic Cottage

The entire wall evoked an "OH, MY!", but the curtain rod with hanging baskets is #1 on my list of ideas for my creative space.

...Cabin & Cottage

Jacqueline's displays ALWAYS evoke an "OH MY!" from me.

My Salvaged Treasures

I literally uttered the words, "OH, MY!" when I saw these cute hangers that Betsy whipped up.

Must Love Junk

The old bucket on the scale, the clock face and the vintage dresser definitely rated an "OH, MY!"

Aiken House & Garden

OH, MY! . . . the red and white quilt . . . the day bed . . . the built in cupboards!

This beautiful stone building seen on It.hink Girl speaks to me not just because of its beauty, but also for the ideas it gives me for my own cottage garden.

Sarah Jane Down the Lane

All this inspiration has me wanting to create an "OH, MY" at my own house today and I hope you find some of your own "OH, MYs".

  2. Yes, I agree that we are stopped in our tracks by visuals. These are all so wonderful, and that is what inspired my post this week; Jade's photos of her native Bavaria always make me sigh, OH MY! As you do too, my dear. Anita
