Welcome to the Fall Porches and Patio Tour hosted by Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home.
If you are visiting from Poofing the Pillows,
I'm sure you loved Stacey's style as much as I do.
I went with a blue and orange color palette for fall,
but with a bright red door,
the main focus of the front porch is my usual red, white and blue.
But as you can see, there are many colors on the porch this year - sort of my "the more the merrier" style of decor.
The back yard is a whole new story - I never used to decorate with orange, except for pumpkins, but I'm having fun this year.
The first thing I did was buy orange fabric for pillows to compliment the blue and white checks.
The pillow with the truck was made from a tea towel.
My garden went along with my color palette by sprouting bright orange Mexican sunflowers all over the yard.
I would love to have the bench filled with pillows every single day, but the head chef and grocery shopper (whom I need to keep happy) hates to have all the pillows on his bench.
The pillows are now on the chaises and that's fine with me.
They are perfect for relaxing on October days that are perfect for naps in the garden.
And now, it's time to head over the Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson to see what my dear friend Jann has going for fall.
Scroll down to the links to each of the homes on the tour.
Well "orange' you the clever one, Carol? LOL Have to tease you. I do love the combination of orange and blue. The benches are so cute with pillows and pumpkins..Linda and Jann are awesome decorators. I have copied many of their ideas and yours. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteIt's all so very pretty, Carol! Your precious home always makes me smile :) Happy fall!! xo, Andrea
ReplyDeleteOrange and blue is a perfect color combination for fall. I love your displays and especially love your idea to turn a sap bucket on its side and fill it with pumpkins. I hope you enjoy many happy moments this fall in your beautiful space.

Carol, your porch and backyard look so pretty. Around here we are putting things up for winter. We do want to have one or two dinner parties or just wiener roasts around the fire-pit. Your weather is just so pretty year round, I would enjoy warmer winters, the older I get the more I enjoy sunshine and warmth :)
ReplyDeleteYour porch is just gorgeous Carol! I adore the pillow that you made from a tea towel. It is so cute and clever!
ReplyDeleteI love how well you blend colors, Carol...it is beautiful! I love all of your personal touches and fall plants! So welcoming!
ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteInspired as always by your beautiful, colorful beach house and garden! Red seems a natural Fall color in New England, but is also a nice surprise for a Fall beach house!
Judith
Love that pillow with the truck filled with fall. Love how you added the orange and blues together. Love it.
ReplyDeleteCarol, love your colors! Adding oranges to your blues is the perfect combination for your sunny California cottage. That lumbar pillow from the tea towel is absolutely adorable, and the Mexican sunflowers - don't you just love them?! They have been a staple for my summer to fall garden now for at least 3 years, and I just love that they keep on blooming (other than when the squirrels here bite their heads off). I have Monarchs all over mine too. A real joy, and so fun to see from east to west. Thanks for sharing your fall patio. So inviting!
ReplyDeleteWhy do men hate pillows so much? The Mister is the same way. He's always looking to "throw" the throw pillows. Anyway, I love what you've done. It's so festive and welcoming - front and back.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I love all of the color! Simply lovely! Happy to be touring with you, again. Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
ReplyDeleteLovely, Carol! Love all the oranges, and it goes with your RWB just fine! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the pops of orange you did this year - they're a great contrast to the blue and white!
ReplyDeleteYour yard is decorated so nice for fall. I love the pretty orange and blue. It must be so relaxing out there in the yard!
ReplyDeleteHey Carol! I love the mix of orange and blue - I think you might be starting a trend! Your porch and garden decor always looks so inviting, and this time is no exception. Happy to be on this tour with you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors for fall this year. Blue and orange make such a happy mix!
ReplyDeleteLove it all Carol. The mix of the orange and blue is so pretty. Enjoy being out in that beautiful garden.
ReplyDeleteKris
Good morning Carol! Your soft and muted summer colors are perfect for a California autumn. Enjoy the day!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely vignettes you have created at your entry. Your red, white and blue don't distract from the fall colors you have added, both in pumpkins and your pretty throw. Happy Fall!
ReplyDeleteCarol, I always love seeing your cottage by the sea. The orange and blue are so perfect for autumn. Your garden is thriving and how nice it must be to sit on the chaise and read. Happy Autumn!
ReplyDeleteWow what a delightful tour! I just love all your bright colors! The orange and blue looks amazing at your colorful cottage! The truck pillow from a tea towel is great. I especially love the stacked pumpkins by the door.Their colors are fantastic in your setting! Of course I love the plaid throw which adds quintessential fall style. Just gorgoeus!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining the tour. Happy fall!
Awe...enjoyed the tour. Such wonderful pictures with lovely colors going on here. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteCarol, I love that you decorated with orange and blue! It is beautiful. I am cracking up about your husband not wanting pillows on his bench! That's how my hubby is too! Love how you made the truck pillow from a tea towel! What a great idea! ~ Kristin www.whitearrowshome.com
ReplyDeleteI love the truck pillow. It ties everything together!
ReplyDeleteEverything is just breathtaking, Carol. I am not a fan of orange but YOUR orange looks stunning with the blues and whites....it's a softer orange that I like a lot.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing that makes your decorating so great is that you paint and make things so that it all goes together so nicely.
Carol, you live in such a dreamy area and you sure know how to create a home that fits right in. I think I would be outside all day...
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteI love orange and blue together! Everything looks so pretty!
Terry
Carol, it is all gorgeous. The orange is just perfect and I have the same trouble with my couch, as far as the chief cook and bottle washer is concerned. But, that is the way it is. I couldn't imagine a couch without pillows or throws..Happy Wednesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous outdoor space! I love the oranges mixed with blue, and those blue and white checked pillows are adorable! Happy Fall!!!
ReplyDeleteNever would have thought of blue and orange for Fall.. but I really do love it! Love the peachey orange blanket and pillow(s) and the darling one with the truck on it. All of the other posts look lovely too... I visited a few. I don't do much decorating for Fall. I usually have some flowering chrysanthemums on my front porch, but this year they all died off before they even bloomed! Strange event. The Fall comes and goes here so fast, if you blink you'll mist it.. it goes right from a HOT summer right into the snows of winter. I've seen a foot of snow before on October 6th (here in central Oregon). As soon as it gets white here, then it's time for Christmas decorations! Would be nice to have a real Fall season. Sigh....
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the color combo! So refreshing that it is different than the usual fall decor. The tea towel pillow is adorable!
ReplyDeleteso fresh and pretty! love the blue and orange together, especially your light blue vintage watering can!
ReplyDeleteYour porch is amazing for fall. Love the red door and yo ur hanging basket. Your red chair looks perfect with the stacked pumpkins. The pillows are beautiful and you have access to some super tea towels. You cottage is always so enchanting and the lounger is a favorite piece of mine. With your weather it is such a romantic pretty touch. Here it would be destroyed with the weather.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day.
Cindy
I love the way that the orange and blue compliment each other! Such a beautiful fall outdoor space!!! So happy to join you on this tour!
ReplyDeleteMexican sunflowers...thanks for naming them for me, Carol! My neighbor had them in full bloom when I was chicken sitting for her and I fell in love with them! Love your orange and blue combo for fall; perfect for your warm climate! I love your blue trimmed window; it looks so European!
