Marriage to an oil painter, means living in an art gallery with an ever changing stream of paintings to display on our walls.
You can see more of Steve's work at Steve Cook Studio.
I was hesitant at first when I was approached by Canvas Factory for a collaboration and Giveaway.
Steve has never done prints of his paintings - as his "manager", I have always felt that when a painting is purchased, the owner shouldn't see it in other homes or businesses.
Yet there have been paintings, such as "Old, But Not Forgotten, that sold and I wish we still owned a copy.
We thought this would be a great opportunity to try a print and chose to have Canvas Factory make a print of a recent painting, Full Moon Over Avalon - a wonderful memory of a family reunion on Catalina Island last fall.
We couldn't be happier with the result - a smaller version and remarkably similar in color.
The Canvas Factory website is super easy to navigate and I love that you can choose between canvas, acrylic or metal.
I wonder how this favorite pic of our grandson would look on metal?
Uploading a pic was simple - and believe me, I have used some sites where uploading a pic was not intuitive and I gave up in frustration.
I chose the Gallery Wrap because that is often what Steve does with paintings - he doesn't frame paintings that are for sale so he continues the painting around the edges for hanging in our home.
The turn around with Canvas Factory was quite speedy - I placed my order on March 10 and received the print on March 15.
The print is sitting in the guest room ready for me to package and send to my cousin Vicki who spent all her summers on Catalina Island.
Canvas Factory will give away 1 photo print of your choice - all you have to do to enter is leave a comment - USA and Canada residents only for the Giveaway.
I will assign each comment a number and use Random. Org generate a random integer.
The winner will be announced on the blog on April 1.

I was provided a print of my choice to write the review - all opinions about the product are my own.

ReplyDeleteGood to know there's a company out there who does excellent work like that. I love all Steve's paintings, but Old, But Not Forgotten has always been one of my faves, too. You're lucky to have an ever-changing gallery in your home! Thanks for including me in the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHow nice this giveaway is...and so generous.
ReplyDeleteI won your cute bag a few months ago so pls don't add my name to the hat.
Please include me. I love your husband's work so I hope the Avalon print is available, if I'm lucky enough to win. My husband is quite a talented acrylic artist although his work is only for family. Our walls are becoming rather full, so thanks for another tip, rotation!
ReplyDeleteI meant to say also, your print could be a scene from where I live, way up the coast from you. The boats, water and looming outcrop are a familiar sight.
ReplyDeleteCarol, What an amazing opportunity this is. I'm holding my breath. Please put my name in the hat. This is like anticipating the lottery numbers only better. Thanks, Sandra

ReplyDeleteHi Carol!
ReplyDeleteI too have had so much trouble navigating websites to have a print put on canvas. You convinced me to give this website a try. Thank you!
Terry
Steve's work is great! How fun that you get to have a continually revolving art show in your home.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be included in the draw. Thanks for the great review!
I’d lice to win! Your husbands art is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHow absolutely lovely!!!! Thanks for the chance ❤️
ReplyDeleteI would love this because I've sometimes experienced "seller's remorse" with a couple of my paintings.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking the other day about how we seem to prefer canvas rather than frames these days. though a frame gives a more finished feel I think. I've never done metal but almost did the other day. Have you tried it with your husband's paintings?
ReplyDeleteWow, I have seen these services and always wanted to try, but weren't sure about quality. If they pass the "Carol" test, I'm sold!
ReplyDeleteI just love Steve's work! It's always so beautiful in your pictures in your home. I can't imagine how hard it is to part with them when they are sold. We live on a channel so Steve's paintings appeal to me even more!
ReplyDeleteWow I would love to try this with one of my prints. Your canvas did turn out wonderful
ReplyDeleteI didn't know your husband was a painter I wish I could paint on canvas
The Catalina print is gorgeous. It's one of my favorite places to visit.
