I rarely decorate for fall in September, but the month began with cool days and I decided to go crazy with fall decor.
Faux flowers in the bag on the Dutch door got a fall treatment by simply adding a pumpkin.
I had fun going out of my comfort zone with my color palette.
First came navy and white pillows made in the summer, I added in orange and white check pillows made from napkins and then I found the colorful throw.
All it took was orange candles and a little embellishment on Mr. Goose to give the dining room a fall feel.
The colors of the fall mantel work quite well with this painting of a boat washed up on our beach.
I am loving decorating this part of the living room since I painted the fireplace white.
I needed to paint a few pumpkins to get just the right colors
and added faux foliage to embellish each vignette.
My favorite vignette so far is my old typewriter -
I know I went a bit crazy with the pumpkins, but I don't care -
and this different color palette makes me smile.
I imagine the new palette will make everyone smile! Nice job! I love pumpkins and I brought out a couple of my own today. I generally don't do a lot of decorating for Fall but I enjoy looking at everyone else's. Thanks for sharing, Carol, and Happy Autumn!
ReplyDeleteI love all your fall decor Carol. So cute my fave is the typewriter so cute. Love that you can use Steve's paintings in your decor too. Very beautiful. Come over to my blog and see my new addition.

ReplyDeleteCarol, your fall vignettes are the neatest! I love how they fit your cottage aesthetic! But I must say that the vintage typewriter is my very favorite. Love it!
ReplyDeleteCharming and inspiring Fall decoration!Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you chose! That blue with the orange and white are so pretty. I have to tell you that when I saw your Ektorp loveseat a few posts back, I knew it was what I wanted for our new furniture. It took several trips to IKEA, but we got the loveseat and chair. Love them!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, it's all so charming. The art is beautiful! thanks

I know what you mean. I keep saying I am minimizing this year because of our trip and being gone in October, and then I keep bringing things up! I agree -- the typewriter is fabulous! Love the brown paper, too!
ReplyDeleteLook at you Carol with your talented self! Everything is so pretty. Love it all. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

ReplyDeleteNow this is Fall decor I can live with! Soft, pretty and always interesting. I need to get mine out and see what appeals to me this year.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I just love all your decorations. I know a lot of people don't like orange but for fall, I think it is perfect and fits in with all kinds of other colors. Your sweet home is testament to that. What a great piece is your red tray table on wheels. I have never seen anything like it. Happy Fall to you..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteOh I love all your bold fall colors, Carol!!
ReplyDeleteYour color additions are just a little surprise but look great, just like your primaries. I love orange with blue. My favorites are the bookends on the mantel - the scale on the left, and the wire basket with wheat on the right. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteI love it! I love your sign hiding the TV! Everything is so gorgeous! What a great idea to paint the pumpkin. I never would have thought of that.

Carol, I love it. Your husband's painting are beautiful. I have never thought of painting pumpkins. I have made them from old sweaters, doilies and lace. I have got to find one of those old typewriters, because I love yours in your decorating. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

I LOVE the pops of orange and browns everywhere.. among the blues and white! It just speaks autumn and fall.. and is the only time of the year that I like orange! Pumpkins of all shapes and kinds look so neat scattered everywhere.. and the Mercedez Benz in the jungle, the sunflowers and your typewriter and just right! Love it all! Marilyn
