WELCOME
If you're on the Patriotic Porches Tour, organized by Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home,
then you are probably visiting from the beautiful home of Shannon of Belle Bleu Interiors.
It was easy for me to say yes to joining the Patriotic Porches Tour.
Living in a white house with blue trim and a red door
pretty much means that our house looks patriotic year round.
It's easy after that to simply add flags
and call it done.
But, I rarely simply "call things done."
Peeking through the jungle of our back yard, you'll see that I've added a bit of patriotic decor to the back porch.
Even an old bicycle is dressed up for the 4th of July.
Basically red, white and blue can be seen throughout the house,
but today is all about porches
and it's time for you to move on to the home of my friend Jann of Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson.

As usual Carol, everything in your home and garden is always an inspiration! So happy to be participating in the tour with you! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
ReplyDeleteSteve would say that I don't need to add any more to the house, but it's so fun to get so much inspiration in one place. I can't wait to see what you posted.
DeleteCarol, your home always draws me in! I can just imagine what a patriotic holiday must be like there on the beach. Love it all, friend.
ReplyDeleteYour comments are always so sweet!
DeleteYour home looks so festive for the 4th. I adore the George Washington tin.
ReplyDeleteMr. Washington is an old tin and one of my favorites. I was going to add a plant, but I noticed the lantana had spread across the flower bed and was traveling across the sidewalk. It really dresses up the tin.
DeleteOh how perfect! I love it all! I know exactly what you mean about rarely calling it "done" (I am no minimalist!) Your home and porch is patriotic summer perfection. Thank you so much for joining us and have a beautiful summer!
ReplyDeleteI don't "need" any more inspiration, but it will be fun to copy ideas I get on the tour.
DeleteAnd, thanks for the sweet words.
Oh my stars and garters I am in love! I need to find a George Washington tin STAT! It's all so cute and clever.
ReplyDeleteThat tin is about 40 years old, sadly showing wear and tear, but I love it.
DeleteI love your sunny, beachy, patriotic porch! It is just perfect! I love all the color and how you mixed in vintage goodies! So happy to be on the Patriotic Porches tour with you!
ReplyDeleteI'm just starting to read everyone's post. Actually, I'm going to start by just looking and taking one pic from each for my IG stories. Then I'll read slowly tonight.
DeleteCarol, no wonder I stalk you on Instagram. I love every picture you post. Cutest most festive house ever! Love it and so excited to be on this tour with you!
ReplyDeleteI was so excited when I saw that you were on the tour.
DeleteCarol, everything looks beautiful! I love the colors of your house! They are so pretty and happy! It has been so much fun being on the tour with you!!!
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I haven't read all the blog posts, just scrolled to find pics for Instagram stories this morning, but I love your blue and white opening to your blog. I'll take time tonight to really read.
DeleteCarol, I always love your darling beach cottage! It's especially perfect in the summer time. That George Washington tin is fabulous!! All of your patriotic touches are so fun!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
I have had George for over 40 years and he remains one of my favorites.

I love both blogging and Instagram and have decided I can do both. I got so I wasn't posting much on the blog, but that is changing.
DeleteCarol, you already know how I adore your white cottage with red and blue details. Always, always fun to visit here, and the patriotic touches are perfect to welcome the 4th of July. Happy 4th to you and Steve.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th to you - boy it crept up quickly!

ReplyDeleteI finally have time to really sit down and read all the posts on the tour. It's fun to meet new people.
DeleteHappy 4th Carol. So fun to see all your cute decor. Everything pops off your white background.
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the week.
Hugs,
Kris
How is it already the end of June? The days just fly by.
DeleteNow I need to catch up on all my blog reading.
Good morning, Carol! Art and expression is never done. And in our homes, things get recycled, reshifted, reinvented! Every season is an opportunity to bring out the memories of times past, and your sweet cottage lends itself to any season. Well-done, and I can't believe we're already thinking of 4th of July!!!!

DeleteCarol, I'm loving your patriotic touches. The bench and wreath on the window grabbed me. You always do fantastic job
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th a bit early
Cindy
We spent a week purging in the attic where I found 3 grapevine wreaths. Now I'm actually using at least one of them. I hadn't done a wreath in years.
DeleteYour cottage by the sea is very nicely decorated. I love seeing things change with each season.
ReplyDeleteI love bringing out all my patriotic decor. It will remain through Labor Day.
DeleteSuch a charming Cottage! Love the bicycle by the porch and this is beautiful for year round! It’s nice that just by adding flags it feels like the 4th! Would love for you to come linkup at “Our Inspired Collection Link Party!” - It runs Tuesday-Friday every week! -Desiree
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip about the link party. I have gotten away from blogging and link parties, but I'm trying to post more frequently. I will definitely link up.
DeleteCarol, you are so right, your house is perfect for the 4th! It's perfect year round! I love the patriotic touches you added. Did that bucket with the 8 on it come that way? Love it! I also love your George Washington tin, just added that to my wish list as well! ~ Kristin www.whitearrowshome.com
ReplyDeleteI bought the tin brand new over 40 years ago. It is one of my favorites.
DeleteI have sweet friends who are always spotting things they say just shout my name. I love red, old buckets and numbers. They saw the bucket at a flea market and said it absolutely belonged at my house.
Carol I always enjoy your pictures! I especially loved you bike all dressed up! You have such a lovely home and a lovely style to match! Have a wonderful 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteI have a list, actually a LIST, that we have been working on since June 1. I am down to only projects that call for painting and on that list is adding white stripes to the old cruiser. Someone left the bicycle in our driveway years ago.
DeleteI love your porch! Your house looks extra special decorated for Independence Day! :D
ReplyDeleteWe've been having storms a lot lately (it's storming now) so everything cute, like our cushions, etc., are put away! I have decorated our breakfast room for Independence Day, though.
I'll enjoy your pretty porch on your blog! ;P

In the winter when our city was on fire, I hated to go out into our garden. First of all, I have asthma and couldn't breathe outside, but second was that anything cute was put away. So, I am really savoring my garden this summer in all it's cuteness. I had 2 friends for lunch on Monday and another for breakfast in the garden this morning.
DeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteYour patriotic house is always fun to visit. Love seeing all the flags added to make it special for the 4th of July...
Judith
It's amazing how adding flags here and there can make things look festive. The flags will stay out through Labor Day.
DeleteCarol, I always enjoy seeing your cottage! Your use of red, white, and blue is always perfect! Happy 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! I adore cottages and yours is so pretty! Reminds me of Southport, NC! Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet words!
DeleteWe've never been to North Carolina, but we're thinking about doing the Eastern seaboard as a vacation to check out the Atlantic beaches.
There is plenty of red, white & blue at our cottage!!!
ReplyDeleteCarol, Your home is so perfect for any national holiday and/or any other time. We can't over decorate at our condo, but we make up for it at our red painted cottage! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it all Carol! Your vignettes are always the best my friend.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. Your house is perfect for the holiday.
