Not Another Caddy . . .

As I am cleaning out one of my craft cupboards I am moving everything into my new garage work space.

I found another caddy-  like I need another one.

It's amazing what I am finding in my quest to be organized.

I remembered the number box I saw at American Home & Garden.

Yesterday I painted the caddy with Old White Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

While waiting for the paint to dry, I checked the picture on my blog post, Seeing Green, and realized I should have painted a rectangle on the caddy.
.
In my organizing, I remembered seeing a rectangular piece of metal.

I nailed it onto the caddy and went looking for numbers to trace.

Instead, I found a bunch of magnetic letters and like that, the plan changed.

I decided to leave the metal unpainted and use magnetic letters to change the words whenever I want.

I tried out different things in the box and used a variety of words.

But, I still wanted to paint a box with numbers.

Of the caddies I painted last week, only one had been left plain.

I grabbed the caddy on the front porch and added our address.

It isn't quite the same as the American Home & Garden caddy, but it will do.

I got my number caddy - Steve actually noticed it on the porch.

And, I also have a fun caddy that can change with my mood, or the season, or the holiday . . .

I'm pretty sure I don't have any more caddies to paint.

  2. You can NEVER have too many tool caddies. They are just too useful. Love the magnetic letter idea. I also turn mine on their sides to stack to hold craft supplies. I use the handles for ribbons and twine.

  9. How cute!
I love the metal detail and the magnetic numbers and letters.
I just thought of something... you could use a stencil and cut magnetic letters or numbers out of those ad magnets you get on you phone book or in the junk mail. Just cut them out and spell stuff with them!
    Free letters...:)

    love this one, Pat

  34. The magnets are a great idea! I have an old drawer that I am going to paint Scandinavian Blue (more of a purplish periwinkle - say that fast three times!). I plan to put pansies and violas in it and mount it on the corner of the fence, somehow!

  46. Love all the caddie creations. I need some of your creativity. On my front porch I have a a book shelf. It has a medium size lizard and an armadillo painted like a Texas flag and that's it. My Shelves are empty and the front porch is blah. Unless you count the 1000 June Bugs. LOL
