"Ain't it funny"

Well hello there

My, it's been a long, long time

How am I doing?

Oh, I guess I'm doing fine

It's been so long now,

But it seems now, that it was only yesterday

Gee, ain't it funny, how time slips away.

I was thinking about why I haven't been blogging much

especially because I have been taking photos - deleted 1,428 pics last night!

I decided that's it because I have done very little around the house -

For the most part, our days have been spent out adventuring -

walking around the neighborhood,

kayaking in the harbor,

sailing with family,

hiking the botanical trail

to enjoy all the colorful flowers

after a rainy winter,

celebrating 46 years of marriage

with a long lunch at the San Ysidro Ranch

so we could walk around the grounds in daylight,

and as always, walking on the beach.

I gotta go now,

I guess I'll see you around

Don't know when though

Never know, when I'll be back in town.

  1. What a great post. I am glad you are enjoying your life. It is hard to be on the computer and out and about doing things, isn't it? I struggle with that balance, too, sometimes. Looks like you are having a wonderful time and you can pop in any old time to say Hello! xo Diana

  20. Gorgeous photos, Carol. I can't get over how much California looks like Crete! I swear, the pics of the flowers in the landscape could be the meadow behind my home and the sea, the Aegean!

  22. Carol, this post was so delightful . . . you out did yourself. Before I type anymore and forget . . . Happy Anniversary! Our was the 2nd, and we forgot all about it. Steve was catching up on some paperwork from work and asked me the date. I wasn't sure if it was the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, so I went to the calendar. I told him it was the 2nd and he thanked me, then about 5 minutes later he says, "hey, it's our anniversary", we got a big senior moment laugh out of it.
Your photos are amazing and it looks like you are having a perfect California Springtime . . . If I were there I would be enjoying the weather and the countryside and not in front of the computer either.
    Enjoy, sweet friend!

  29. Carol I know what you mean about blogging. I haven't posted in April and it does seem like it's been awhile ---maybe that's a blogger thing, we experience time differently hahaha
Although I have been working on our backyard, just haven't taken a lot of pictures. But time does fly by. And it sounds like you guys have been enjoying life and that's the most important thing. I love that picture of you both on a boat, you look so happy.

  38. Wonderful post, Carol...you have so much beauty all around you, I would find it terribly hard to sit down and write. Your pics are gorgeous. The one thing that stood out the most when I visited San Diego was all of the flowers and blooming shrubs and trees. One huge garden!! The scent was intoxicating. When I see your pictures it all comes back to me.

Happy Anniversary to you and your guy...here's to many more years of adventures together!

    Easter blessings,
