Simple Sunday

I had a long day of driving yesterday (in rain) and any drive through Los Angeles is exhausting.

I arrived in Laguna Beach early and was able to stop by the former home of my cousins

which was the inspiration for my desire to live by the ocean.

I was in Laguna to meet with high school classmates to work on our 50th reunion and this was the gorgeous view we enjoyed while we worked.

I snapped a few pics of the fabulous house a classmate designed/built and this cabinet had me swooning.

I was surprised to discover that the cabinet is the refrigerator and the drawers that pull out are the freezer.

After so much driving yesterday, I am having a lazy day ...

a relaxing beach walk in the morning after a nice rain ...

playing with my camera ...

cutting flowers from the garden and staging photos ...

editing pics

 and purging my iPhotos ...

What a treat today has been to have a "simple Sunday"!

  2. I'm glad you're having a simple Sunday. Not so much here. I did two loads of laundry, put clean sheets on both beds, cooked a roast, cleaned cat boxes and a big job that Brian helped with...cleaning out the fridge. We also pulled it out and I cleaned the side that butts up next to the cabinets (it was filthy) and I vacuumed the coils in back of the fridge and the floor underneath the fridge (gross). We did take a break in the middle of the afternoon to go see a movie. Love your cousin's former house - so pretty and charming.

  4. Sounds like a perfect day! I watched "Lifeboat" and "Ivanhoe" {Awesome movies!!}; put away clean clothes, balanced my checkbook, and paid my VISA bill.

Tonight I'm going to play in my art journal!

  5. Driving in rain makes me tense. Driving in a big city would make me more tense. :-) Glad you made it there and back and that you had a relaxing day today.

Lovely photos as always. Have a great week ~ FlowerLady

  6. Beautiful place to have a get together. Great pictures. Nice to see flowers and sunshine.
I just got back from Colorado where the weather was beautiful. Back to Ohio today and snow. It's all beautiful in its time.

  7. Driving makes me tired too, especially if there is traffic.
Glad that you have had today to take it easy and relax.

  9. It sounds like you had a great trip and I love the pictures you posted. I do not drive anymore, but I always hated driving in the rain. Our Sunday was busy one and will be posting about it later in the week.

  10. Carol I've never been to Laguna Beach, your photos are like a tourist promotion, a place I'd love to visit. Your cousins old home is down right enchanting and I can see it being the start of your dream "to live in a cottage by the sea". 50 years and I bet seeing all your old classmates filled your heart with joy and made that long drive so worth it. Refrigerator is a cool design and pretty color. Glad you recharged your battery today because you know I call you the energizer bunny - always on the go. Enjoy your week, somehow I just know you will be outside surrounded by beautiful flowers you nuture and grow.
    xoxo,
    Vera

  11. It has rained here most of the day so I also enjoyed a simple and relaxing day. I did get some housework done as well as working on the pile of paperwork on my desk, but honestly that is relaxing to me. I love your photos and always enjoy visiting! Blessings, Cindy xo

  13. Yes, driving through the freeway system in Los Angeles can be a challenge, let alone rain and crazy drivers.

What a great view to look at while you worked on your reunion.

So glad that you had a peaceful Sunday.
Your photo's are so beautiful. Have a great week.

  15. LOVE.

The ocean is therapy. I have decorated my studio with an ocean feel all in aqua accents, a few oil paintings of the sea and some aqua crystals hanging from my chandelier.

Simplicity is like medicine. And talk about Sunday, did I have a treat; another photo shoot in the country with two great friends, antiques and perfect sunlight. What more could I ask for during our slow to come spring?

I like the blue contrast to the other cabinets.
Does this classmate want to come to Texas to build some like that in kitchen on the farm whenever we start building. LOL
I'm sure for a pretty penny.
