Yesterday, a neighbor commented on how much he enjoys seeing the KEEP IT SIMPLE sign on our gate as he drives down our lane.
That got me thinking about all the signs we have around our house.
I didn't realize there were so many!
I love decorating with words -
I guess it's the teacher in me.
I am never at a loss for words,
Whoa!
I didn't realize there were so many!
I love decorating with words -
I guess it's the teacher in me.
I am never at a loss for words,
but I'm thinking maybe, just maybe, I have enough.

Decorating with words is very popular right now. I love reading inspirational quotes that people put on display. You have a nice collection of them around your home.
ReplyDeleteI remember all your signs ~ they are so cheerful and uplifting!
ReplyDeleteI love all your signs...I'm a sign lover, too!
ReplyDeleteLove all your word pieces!!

I do enjoy signs... I must be a reader! LOL. Your cottage by the sea is very charming... what a blessed life to be by the sea. I lived in an apt on the boardwalk in my twenties and now I'm longing to be back again. Someday!
ReplyDeleteOh, I think there is room for one more sign. I do like your signs like the "keep it simple" one that probably makes neighbors smile.
ReplyDeleteI love your words! I need more signs.....
ReplyDeleteYou once mentioned to me...perhaps on IG, that you loved signage. I didn't realize it until now. I love the sentiments. It's a wonderful way to express yourself.
ReplyDeleteJane
Carol,
ReplyDeleteYou have the best signs, gathered over time and displayed and I adore all the ones you created. There's magic in words and I love to express myself through them as you do too. Have a wonderful weekend, Last week was in the 80's and Sunday we are getting 4+ inches of snow, totally insane.
xoxo,
Vera
Carol,
ReplyDeleteWhatever the reason for all your signs, they fit each space. Once a teacher, always a teacher, and that's a good thing. Loved reading all your quotes.
Judith
I found you on Vera's blog and i am happy because of this. Your blog is amazing too.

YOU are so good.
ReplyDeleteYour posts are always well-thought out, ending in just the right poetic touch.
It IS the teacher in you, and in me, that draws us to the written word, the thrill that the sound of words and syntax gives us. I consider myself SO fortunate to be a teacher of language since I love it so....
You have more than enough inspiration and beauty.
You do have a wonderful way with words and you artistically create and show them around your home and gardens. I love the one on your gate.

Your signs go so well with your house and decor. And they communicate!!!
ReplyDeleteCarol, I love this, your house has something to say. I have a few things here too. Blessings for a beautiful weekend., xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteWords and numbers are something I always notice on your blog. You use them in such a great way to decorate. Don't stop, more signs!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
That is so dear that your neighbor commented on the "Keep it Simple" sign and notices the reminder as he drives by!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the hand with the quote about life being too short for fussing and fighting. Words to live by!
You know I am a huge fan of words and quotes, too. Not a teacher, but ever since I was little, have always loved words...reading, writing, the quirkiness of certain words, spelling...I even loved the dictionary. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have always admired your hand sign with "life is very short" quote on it. Where did you find that, if you don't mind me asking?
Have a wonderful weekend, Carol!
I love your vignettes! Just my style!
ReplyDeleteI have that EAT sign. First it was red, then aqua, now golden yellow.

ReplyDeleteKeeping it simple was my work for this New Years. Its the only way to go and makes life so much more enjoyable. funny I don't have any signs probably because the Charmer has very little wall space...too many windows even if a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI love the signs too! It could be surely be the teacher in you and i think signs would appeal to readers and writers as well... Anyone who loves the written words. Signs are just fun!!!

ReplyDeleteHi Carol, What fun to have such a word collection about the house. I guess I'm just not a wordy person, I don't have any around, only Victorian mottoes in long frames.
