Little by little,
I am ticking off things off the list.
The yard looked like this last week
but you can see that I have made some changes.
The first change was to move the yellow cupboard from the porch to the hallway and give it a new paint job.
This old cabinet has been many colors over the 35 years I have owned it and this time I created a mint green using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Antibes, Pure White and Marine Blue.
A touch of yellow peeks out on the edges
and a little bird knob graces the front of the cabinet.
We are planning to paint the walls white, but for now I am content with the green cabinet against yellow walls.

The reason I wanted the cabinet inside the house was to store placemats and table runners - the pottery was added for fun!
The removal of the cabinet from the porch led to moving the baker's rack from the side yard.
I tried a lot of different items on the shelves until I settled on pottery.
While I was painting the cabinet, Steve was working on another project on the list.
A friend gave us this bench in January and Steve freshened it up with a couple of coats of polyurethane.
Another project on the list was to spice up the vintage window hanging on the wall.
My hand is healed enough that I can sew once again and it took just a few minutes to sew up a little banner I stenciled.
The area was finished off with an old ladder that got bumped from the living room.
The curtain for the garage door is finished and
tomorrow I am tackling the "jungle" in the garden.
With only 7 items left on the list and 2 weeks to go before JP's graduation party,
life is definitely good!

I always love to visit your place, Carol! You always inspire me to 'get to work' and check things off my list! Although, it might help if I actually wrote a list to check things off of, but you know what I mean! Love the new paint on your cabinet and that little birdie is so cute! Enjoy your Sunday! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you found our Best of the Weekend party, Carol! I just love what you did to your front porch - it all looks so cheerful!

ReplyDeleteLove, love, love, everything you have done! I'm in awe of you that you have gotten so much done in such a short time especially during your recovery from hand surgery. I especially love the new color of the former yellow cabinet. I may have to try and get just the right color of mint green using your colors...hope you don't mind, if your friends stop by don't tell them I copied you! ;) I enjoy looking at your pretty linens, I love old table linens. Keep a steady pace and you'll have your list completed in no time. Take a rest now and then though!

I adore the colour you created to paint your little cabinet!
ReplyDeleteYour home and gardens are always so delightful! Glad to hear your hand is feeling better enough where you can do some sewing once again. Good luck on tackling the jungle...that will be a big project. I love how you stacked the placemats and runners in the cabinet and then put teapots on top. So pretty! Love your garage door curtain, too.
ReplyDeleteWow you and Steve have really been ticking projects off your list. With only 7 left on the list and two weeks to go you've got it made. Glad you hand is better so you can see...but it does seem like its taking a long time to heal? We've been getting lots of rain so my gardens are turning in to jungle too...doesn't seem to take long. Love the curtain on your garage door.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great Carol! I absolutely love the curtain...it is perfection in your house! The new color you created looks great on the cabinet. I love changing things around....makes everything feel different and new without spending any money! Good luck getting more things checked off your list. Mine is super long too but I have been getting things done....slowly but surely!

Look at you! Getting it done! Everything looks pretty Carol. I love the new blue color on the hutch. It's a perfect place to store linens. The pottery on the bakers rack is so spring like and I love the little banner on the window. Yep, you're getting it all spruced up. Be careful out there taming the jungle! Watch that hand, my mom was raking last week and had to put her brace back on... it takes time to build those muscles back up I guess.
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased that your hand is getting better. I love the new colours on the cabinet and the bird knob is a wonderful finishing touch! Sarah x
ReplyDeleteI love the colour you created for the cabinet, it looks great, and the window with the banner is making me think about two small windows I have in the shed........yours looks so good.
ReplyDeleteIt also looks like you're well on the way to ticking everything off your list !
I love all the photos! Your place is lovely! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Carol :)

rue
Love the new look cabinet. Your home is so colourful, I love it. There's nothing as satisfying as checking things off a to-do list, is there?
