This patriotic table setting was brought about by the Target Dollar Spot.
I could not pass up these cute patriotic pillows.
I know I could easily make them, but it seemed silly when the pillows were only $3 each.
I liked the texture of the patriotic hand towels and
I thought they might work perfect for napkins and placemats.
Today we received the invitation for the annual Brunswick Lane Memorial Day Party so I decided it was okay to go patriotic in the dining room.
The hand towels are the perfect size to use as a napkin tied in a knot.
In my pre-blogging days, the napkin usually went to the left of the plate with the flatware on top of it,
but I have become much more creative in my table settings after seeing so many beautiful tables on blogs and Pinterest.
The star plate from Fishes Eddy I used as a centerpiece is a favorite reminder of my first visit to New York City.
There is always a bit of a patriotic thing going on in the living room
and so I think the new Target pillows will be sticking around at least until the 4th of July.
I am sure by then Target will have come up with some other cheap decor to lure me in!

Carol,
ReplyDeleteLove love your patriotic table setting. So awesome.

Good morning DEAR CAROL! I was just at Target yesterday and picked up a reasonably priced Shabby Chic style bedskirt for my vintage baby crib turned day bed in our enclosed patio. PROBLEM TO SOLVE, however: the bedskirt is a twin, the baby crib mattress is not. I wish I had one of you dear blogger pals near me to help me (a non-seamstress) figure out how to neatly and nicely cut the width down without making a mess of the thing!
ReplyDeleteYour décor looks fantastic and will be perfect for all summer. The cottage looks wonderful! OH! Are you on Instagram? I just joined last week and I am hooked. Come and visit me at: les_dames_dabord
Have a super day my friend. Anita
Beautiful! as is everything you do. Have a wonderful week xoxo
ReplyDeleteCarol I love it!! Especially that shot with your dutch door half opened...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteOur Dutch door is always half opened and everyone knows if the door is open they can just pop in!
DeleteSo fresh and pretty, Carol.
ReplyDeleteWe had Target for a very short time. The chain wished to blame its failure on the Canadian shopper, but the fact was that the merchandise never seemed to make it north of the border - empty shelves had me thinking 'this must be what Russian felt like in the 70's'!! I'll just keep on visiting Target south of the border!
I love the patriotic items you found at Target! I was just in there the other day and saw a lot of that too. They always have such cute things. I like how you added the little pinwheels to the place settings too.
ReplyDeleteLove the red, white and blue in your dining room! Target and those cute pillows!! Great fun.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda

The tiny pinwheels are perfect on the plate with the napkin ring :) and your dutch door in the background is the perfect backdrop to everything patriotic.

I ran into Target on my way home yesterday and saw all the Americana stuff but didn't have any extra time to shop! I did see the cute pillows though. I love what you bought and what you did with it all. It looks awesome! Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. I made some patriotic colors pillows last year.
ReplyDeleteCarol.
ReplyDeleteAll decked out in red, white and blue. Lovely Target finds and it turned into design on a dime. Looks happy and fresh and will certainly take you through July 4th. Ever notice on Fixer Upper JoJo never places silverware down for a place setting for the camera shots?
xoxo,
Vera
This is so cheery and fun, Carol...I love the polka dot flatware!
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet table setting. I adore pinwheels, they look great as part of your setting. The pillows are adorable too!!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Carol! I need to stop by Target this week. They have some great buys. Especially love the pillows and napkins. Your tablescape is magazine worthy. What a pretty way to usher in the summer season. I am very inspired!
ReplyDeleteI just love the pillows, what a score at $3.00. Did you embellish the napkins with the star or did they come that way? I haven't visited Target in years. Used to be my favorite store for home goods. It is in such a congested area I avoid going but maybe I will fight the traffic this week. Debbie
ReplyDeleteI just love patriotic themes. Your table setting and pillows are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so festive Carol. I'm with you...why make them when you can buy them at such a good price.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, such a special and festive table. Don't you love the dollar bins at Target. Great pillows and towels. The price over making them, can't be beat!!

Carol, you have such a knack girl! The pillows were a great score, and yes; why make them when you can buy them for that price? Like I said on IG, love the knotted napkin. May be copying that for my July table. Of course I will credit you my friend. I am a sucker for anything red, white, and blue. I have so much of it that I try not to buy new, but had I been to Target I would not have been able to resist!
