Views in the Garden

Bear with me as I bombard you with picture after picture of my little garden house - you can read here about how it came to exist.


Visitors get just a peek of the garden house from the Dutch door, but a full view of the house from the living room windows.


Yesterday I went outside to take photographs of the interior, but it was a gorgeous day and I got distracted taking photos of the little house from every view in the garden.


Ever since we bought our house, I have hated this silk floss tree and last week I told Steve we needed to cut it down.


I used a little piece of picket fence to disguise the stump that remains of the tree and can't wait for the flowers to grow in the little patch of garden in front of the house.


The path to the little house is just a layer of sand topped with pea gravel.


My love of primary colors definitely shows in this photo of the house.


The little garden house is surrounded by a variety of trees.


This is one of my favorite views from the house.


The garden definitely has a coastal feel to it - Steve found some buoys on the beach and painted them to match the house.


I loved my garden as it is shown last summer all decorated for a tea party.


But, I love the little house too.

Dear friend, I love that you took down that tree; you want to feature that sweet little house and now the focus is perfectly paved by pea gravel to your little hideaway! OH WHAT FUN!     I love your garden house, Carol! It looks like such a bright sunny spot. In fact, I love your whole home and garden - I'm sure it is a real pleasure to live by the beach (in your part of the country anyway!). I could be quite comfortable sitting in one of the lounge chairs outside the garden house or having some tea at your table. : )

    I like the new little garden cottage! It's such a nice touch in the yard. It adds interest, height, and more color. Not to mention how useful it must be! It's fun seeing all the pictures you take and things you do with your happy little home. It's obvious how much you love it! It looks like a wonderful place to live! :-)

    Carol, I just love your garden and your little garden house. I know that you have Spring and Summer all year round, but seeing your flowering bush with those beautiful red flowers . . . just gets me hope for an early spring. Our winter has been mild, but it is still winter. I was outside today digging around and found that my tulips are popping their little heads through the soil . . . so warm weather is coming. I will greet it with open arms. There are a lot of gorgeous blogs on the internet, but yours is by far one of the prettiest and one of my very favorite sites to visit.     I will be back next week. I cant' wait to see the inside. Your pictures are so crisp and clear. Love them. We just had a tree taken down from our yard, too. It didn't really serve a purpose where it stood and was really in the way of us backing out of the garage, so down it came. Stump has been removed and the yard smoothed over. Now to plant some grass as soon as it warms up.

    Carol i don't think i've seen your garden before and i really love what you've done to it. It makes me excited for our own backyard. The hubby decided to fill in the old, cracked built-in swimming pool that takes up our entire backyard which means i'll soon have my beloved garden! well, not soon but that's ok. I like the pea gravel i see your backyard. And i'm curious if you did your own rock patio? I love that look.

    what a great addition to your garden! I love the colors. You can always put a large pot of trailing flowers on top of the stump as well. I am not sure how low it is. Or some sort of garden implement....wagon urn bird bath etc I hope you are laying out in your garden resting your wrist and taking it all in.
