Little Things

Nothing spectacular going on in my life - just a lot of little things to make me happy.

The front of the house is shaping up.

Looking out to the garden always brings a smile to my face.

Flowers, planted in containers so Lulu can't dig them up, provide color in my life.

Painting the nightstand in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Old White and finding an old bowl in the attic to fill with heart shaped stones are the beginnings of changes to the bedroom.

One more step in the bedroom change is these pillows I made today out of dish towels I bought in January.

Swapping out red floral pillows for blue buffalo check pillows is the beginning of simple changes in the living room.

Sweet yellow weeds adorn the little red ladder which is another change in the living room.

A great bundle of little things all add up to a pretty good week.

It is the small things that make life so pleasant. That is quite the bowl you found in the attic…it looks great. Looks like one a person would make bread in.

Carol, I have missed your posts terribly. So glad to see you back, and I must say, your hard work and passion to organize and redo the cottage surely shows, and I love every nook and cranny....yes, the little things do make us quite happy. WELCOME BACK! (Love your white trunk/coffee table!)

All of a sussen this question popped-up in my head .......
What's behind all this for Carol.
I do understand the JOY of all you are doing .....
But I do wonder how it works for you as Carol ?
Does it help you to be who you want to be and how about all you have done in your life until now .......
Is it making your plan for the future more clear ?

It all looks great, Carol! Love those cute dish towel pillows!

I wish I could find blue buffalo check fabric. I have been looking high and low, and this is Florida. You would expect it to be here. I need to make a tablecloth and cover some chair seats before April 1st. Down to the wire!

Carol,

It happens every visit ... I leave happy! Yes, it is always about the little things in life. But also the ability to see them, create them and rejoice in them.

The photo of your garden iron gate is so inviting. Your sweet pillows from towels so cute.

I love the look of flowers in baskets. Do you line them with plastic and then plant directly inside OR do you just place the pots inside?
XO,
Vera

Carol,
Oh how I love seeing all your pretty colors throughout your home. I have to say my favorite place would be on the couch with some good magazines or my I pad looking out into that garden. What a great place for a sweet nap. Beautiful.

What is it about brightly painted Adirondack chairs that bring magic to a space? Not that yours doesn't have enough magic on it's own! Your pictures make my heart crave warmth. I guess I'll turn up the heat!
