Happy Days

I have been following Ricki at Art @ Home for quite awhile and I love reading her Tuesday Feature.

I count my blessings daily and have much to be happy about, but I have never written a Happy List post.

For the month of September, I was waiting for a particular event to happen that would make me very happy and it finally did so today I am sharing what has made me happy recently.

These chrysanthemums have been covered with buds ready to burst for weeks and finally each plant is popping with colorful flowers.

I love to swim, but I have been LAZY and blamed Lulu for not getting to the pool to swim, but yesterday I changed that and it felt wonderful to glide through the water and use those swim muscles.

I promise myself that I will swim at least 3 days a week to keep my mind and body happy.

Steve and I are both happy that Little Lulu is okay.

Our naughty little puppy, with such an innocent face, made a visit to the emergency room last night after swallowing one of my socks.

And this neglected house and yard are making me really happy.

Steve and I are over the top happy because our daughter KC, who has told us for years that she will never return to her hometown to live, is coming home.

KC is leaving San Francisco to take a position with a world wide company headquartered in Ventura.

We pick up the keys today to this little duplex where KC will be living and I will be creating an outdoor garden room for her to enjoy.

And the best part - she will be living on our lane.

Just like in this painting Steve did of KC years ago, she will be surfing along with cycling, running, and playing tennis with me.

We have both been pinning things to her New House Pinterest board and can't wait to be shopping to decorate her duplex.

I am one happy camper now that my daughter will be 4 houses away.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Head over to Art @ Home to read Ricki's Happy List and more.

  3. I do know your happiness. My son and his family moved back to our village in August. He hasn't been home since he left for college , other than visits. He went to college in Florida. (We live in Ohio) From there he was in the military stationed in Hawaii but serving a year in Bosnia and then a year in Afghanistan. He has been living in Colorado since his oldest was born....7 years ago. So having them close by is just the "best". So happy to be able to more of a part of the grands' lives. Happy Happy Happy. My other two sons live close by but my daughter is still in Colorado. You will have so much fun with her close....really close. She is beautiful by the way. You and your hubby are a cute couple as well. So happy for you. xo

  7. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with your daughter decorating her new bungalow. My dog used to eat socks ALL the time. He's a 120 lbs Labrador. We would eventually find them in the backyard or in my son's bedroom floor. I'll spare the details but after the first couple of times of panicking I learned he would be ok. I ended up carrying pet insurance for him just in case. He is 12 years old now and thankfully has given up on the sock habit! Glad Lulu is ok.

  19. Well, I know you must be ecstatic! How wonderful to have your daughter nearby. As far as Lulu is concerned - will you please feed that dog already? Just kidding! Glad that sweet girl is all right - wow, a sock! I found out today that a classmate of mine has been diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer and was thinking about how thankful that I should be for my health. Maybe, I should write out a whole list like yours - it is a good thing to do once in a while.

  33. Lucky you, to have your daughter living close by. That's always the conundrum, we raise our children to be happy, healthy, independent adults, then when they are, and that means living a plane ride away, we wish we weren't so convincing. lol.

  40. Oh, Carol, how lucky you are to have KC close to you, once again! My daughter left last November for Toronto and plans on making it her permanent home, as the economic crisis offers no future for young people here. Thus, I hope to slowly start spending more time in my hometown, which now houses my one and only child! I am SO elated and over the moon ecstatic for your family!! Can't wait to see KC's garden bloom with beauty and love, as well as her new home, just STEPS!! away from her talented mama!

  43. Wow, Carol! You are one lucky duck! I know you'll be so happy KC so close! *and* It sounds like a great opportunity for her! Plus Lulu's all better, bless her heart! She has been one naughty pup! But when are furbabies aren't feeling well, no one's happy at home. I've been at the vet and the cardiologist with Bonnie this week. That's why I haven't been posting much, and why I'm so late visiting y'all.

Thanks so much for linking-up to My Happy List! You've made my week! Oh, and now I'm curious about your Pinterest board....I want to go lurk around over there and see what y'all have been up to!

  52. I had to smile when I read about your puppy (not that you thought it was funny). We had a similar mishap with our Jack Russell puppy (she's now 3 years old) when she swallowed a Christmas ornament. $1,200 later, we bought pet insurance for the little rascal.
