I'm thankful for . . .

I know it's a little early for this post, but two people on Instagram got me thinking about thankfulness.

Yesterday one person asked, "what are you thankful for today?" and my reply was "nothing".

I went on to explain that by nothing I meant that I had absolutely nothing I had to do and after a busy week I was thankful for no commitments.

The second person, Rhiann of @starry_sky_farm posted this picture and I responded.

It got me thinking of all I am thankful for . . .

Mexican sunflowers in the garden - at least one blooms each day.

Walks on the beach with friends - do you see that little guy in the wet sand?

Blogging friends like Connie of Crafty Home Cottage who just sent me the cutest Christmas banner

and Cindy of Cloches and Lavender who sent me this wonderful book I won in her giveaway.

Finding the perfect little flowers in the garden for a table setting I'm
working on for the "Gather 'Round the Table" blog hop.

And I'm especially thankful for this little guy we'll see in just 10 days - I'm definitely missing the curls after his first haircut.

What are you thankful for this month?

  1. Oh my goodness . . . I'm guessing that this is your grandson . . . how time flies :) He is adorable.
Thank you for the shout out, I am happy you like the banner. Your gift of the sweet bathroom sign is now hanging. You inspired me to paint my woodwork and give our bathroom a fresh coat of white paint . . . thanks for putting that bee in my bonnet . . . I needed a push :)

I'm thankful for God's grace and for the many blessings that I enjoy living in this beautiful country of ours.
    Have a lovely week.
    Connie :)

  2. Look at the curls on that little guy!!! Just darling and,as much as we love them, he will probably NOT like them when he gets to middle school. lol He is just as cute as can be.
I loved this thankful post. I am looking for one of those 'thankful for nothing days' one day soon. xo Diana

  3. I love to read posts like this! Just might do one of these myself. I'm thankful for the inspiration and beauty you always share. ;)

  4. He is darling! Look at that head of hair! Right now I'm thankful for my warm and cozy full house on this cold night.

  5. What a cutie getting his first haircut. Love the curls. There is so many blessings and things to be grateful for in our lives. Everyday is a gift in itself. Thankful for your sharing of friendship Carol.
Happy New Week. We can be thankful for new beginnings each week.

  6. Good morning dearest Carol! I am thankful for a heartbeat. I am thankful that I have a soul. I am thankful just to be alive.

  7. I am thankful to be home again after our trip to England and Paris -- as wonderful as it was, it was also challenging. I am grateful for doctors who act in a timely way and for adorable Baby Grands. I am grateful for a wonderful and supportive family, heating repair people who come on a Sunday and friends who will both play and celebrate with you and listen when it seems dark. For blogger friends who are real-life friends now, too. For all that is my life.

  8. So much to be thankful for, too many to list! Your grandbaby is so adorable. Enjoy your days. Praying for all of California in these treacherous days of wind and fire.

  9. Oh Carol thanks for the mention. You will have so much fun with the little one, so adorable.

I have so many things I am grateful for but my improving MS, husband and pups are at the top. I will never take my ability to do so many things I haven't done in many years.

My list is large, simple things make me grateful.

Enjoy the start of your week

  11. Oh my goodness! That little guy is such cuteness overload. Mexican sunflowers? WOW! They are beautiful. Oh I love the beach......I am thankful for so much and I truly try to be daily. So thankful for another day of life that God has given. Hope you have a wonderful week. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  12. Carol,
I have so much to be thankful for! I am so thankful that I was able to retire. I am so thankful that my husband retired too! I am so thankful for our marriage, our children, and every minute we get to spend together.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  13. It is so easy with busy lives not to stop and think of what to be thankful for. Ahh your grandson looks so grown up, hope you have a wonderful time together again. Sarah x

  14. Thank you for the thought provoking post. I too love it when I have a week (or even a day) with no plans. That doesn't happen often. Life is so busy, and yet I'm thankful that I'm able to be a participant in the "busy-ness" which means I'm still able to walk and move, hear and see.... and that my heart beats strongly in my body. I'm always always grateful to have my three wonderful sisters to share life with, as well as my hubby, and my son and his darling (almost) wife. Much to be thankful for and blessed, even though there have been some dark days and sad years in my life... as I'm sure just about everyone has to go through too. The beauty of nature and being able to be IN it and take photos of it, is high on my thankfulness list too! xoxo Marilyn

  15. What a cutie pie! And you are right...we have so much to be thankful for, even when it's not having commitments!

  16. I'm thankful for so many things! I'm also thankful to find time for a little blogging again since it's been way too long =] Love your pretty flowers!

Such a cutie there, enjoy your time with him!

  17. Carol, I know you are thankful for that cutie pie. So sweet. I loved all the flowers and the beautiful beach scene...I could look at that all day. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  18. Susie, oh my goodness what a charming tablescape! It made me smile and feel all happy inside! Love the blue and yellow palate. And how clever and cute was that centerpiece! Pinned.

  19. Hey Carol! I just love all your beachy colors in your tablescape. It's perfect for a coastal Thanksgiving! Your pitcher with the dried roses and eucalyptus is so pretty. So happy to be hopping with you!

  20. How refreshing to see such a pretty table and a Thanksful post. Your grandson is adoreable and definitely much to be thankful for. I am blessed to be living closer to family again so I can enjoy my grands also.
