We live in a funky little beach house
so it stands to reason that our garden would be funky too.
It is filled with old things we aren't ready to throw away -
favorite surfboards Steve no longer rides,
license plates from cars we no longer own
and an old school chair - I have no idea where I found it.
Things we find on our walks often make their way into the garden like buoys that wash up on the beach.
This rickety chair tucked into the garden was not red when we found it on the side of the street, but the red makes it stand out in a sea of greenery.
An old wheelbarrow our neighbor was throwing out holds our tomato plants and we are looking forward to tasty homegrown tomatoes soon.
The driftwood for the BEACH sign was found on one of our beach walks.
As if the garden didn't have enough funky junk,
I spotted this rusty old chair on a street corner yesterday and it came home with me.
This is not the final resting place, but it works for now.
You've gotten a peek at our funky little garden and now time for you to share a garden post.

YOU GOT THE CHAIR! Bravo!!!
ReplyDeleteThe funkier, the better. The old and worn things have a place in the garden, where more than flowers grow. From such places, ideas and then actions sprout, changing our world. Love your space because it's always evolving, showing your mind and heart's desires.
Happy day dear Carol!
I love all the personality in your garden. It's colorful, happy, and unique.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I love that you have saved throw away items and put them in your gardens. They have a place of honor now. We like recycling here too. I love the old surfboards. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI love your garden! It's the kind I would have if I had a good space. Lots of eclectic things that say who I am among the plants and flowers!! That rusty chair still has purpose, glad you rescued it!

ReplyDeleteCarol, I love your funky little garden! I drag stuff home like that as well. Hubby has learned to just grin and bear it. lol! My latest bring home was a wicker planter bought at a yard sale for 50 cents. Your buoys and surf boards are fabulous! Love this fun garden party!

I ADORE your funky little garden! Having special memory things and found things is what makes it interesting. Anyone can go to the garden store and buy "stuff" but your garden has personality.

Hoping not to bore to you, I thought to share a post which isn't new to you, but that's the only way I have to participate !
ReplyDeleteThank you for your patience !
Much love

Love your funky garden! Everything around you house makes me smile, especially repurposed things like the painted driftwood signs, using cool chairs to hold plants, using a wheelbarrow for a planter. Those kinds of things in gardens not only add visual interest, but repurposing is very thrifty and artistic. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your treasures in your funky garden
