Random Happiness

It doesn't take much to make me happy . . .

planting pansies in a pot on the porch . . .

a walk on the beach on this glorious fall day . . .

playing on the beach with Little Lulu even though I gave her a bath yesterday . . .

time to make my favorite cookies (1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg) for JP . . .

looking at the goodies I made in a 3 hour craft workshop yesterday

a Christmas card hanger with decorated clothes pins . . .

a little stamped muslin bag and Christmas cards . . .

a Thanksgiving candle and a bag to carry all my goodies home.

The Virginia House

I am headed downtown to my favorite antique store, American Home & Garden now and I will be really happy if I can find a little desk like this beautiful desk I saw at The Virginia House.

What is making you happy today?

. . . . . . . .

Hop on over to these parties with me to see what others are up to this week:

  1. It doesn't take much too make me happy either! Just walked on a new trail near where I live with my husband. Getting ready to figure out how to decorate my table for Thanksgiving and doing some raking of leaves. It is beautiful here today, about 70 degrees so I am enjoying the outside. Good luck with your shopping venture,

  2. Hope you find your desk. The craft that you made are really nice and great for Christmas.
Today I am happy as my granddaughter called for help with her homework. She lives in Los Gatos so I don't get to see her much. So any time I can see or talk to her is very special. Beautiful day here in So CA.
Have a wonderful week. Little Lulu looks like she was having a good time at the beach.

  3. You know what makes me truly happy? Knowing I'm important to someone. But my husband says I'm easily amused and this is what usually makes me literally jump for joy:

    dogs
    horses
    pictures of dogs or horses
    teaching French
my students when they have fun learning
    eating chocolate.

    TAH DAH!

Hugs to you my dear friend and GOOD LUCK FINDING A DESK! I know you'll find something and paint it to your liking!! Anita

  4. You just inspired me for my next blog post. I tend to think my blog posts lately are too morose, too heavy. How about thinking about the things that make me happy....thank you, Carol!

  8. Hi Carol, I love the idea of decorated clothes pins for hanging Christmas cards. Every year I try to come up with a new way to show them off. I just gave Butchy a bath about an hour ago and I'm wondering how long he'll stay clean, LOL
Our furry friends do have fun getting dirty, don't they?
    Keep Smiling,
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  14. I am feeling happy just looking at all the things that made you happy, but most of all that my daughter is doing well after her surgery yesterday and I got the ornament exchange partner e-mails sent out....:) Oh....the cookies have no flour? And is it brown sugar or white? My hubby, daughter, and son would love them. I don;t like peanut butter myself, but I want to make some for them! Have a wonderful Tuesday....Vicky

  29. Right now, the only thing that's making me happy this morning is my warm coffee on this COLD morning! The sun coming in the windows and shining on the houseplants and my kitty's fur sure is pretty, but that sunshine is deceiving. I am dreaming of walking on your beach. ;-) Your crafts are really cute.
