Lucky Me

Last month, I wrote a post about some changes in our bedroom and I mentioned that I wanted to make some redwork pillows like the pillows I saw on Manuela's blog, A Cultivated Nest.

Well, LUCKY ME for having such a sweet blog friend, Manuela ,who contacted me to say she would be sending me a package which arrived yesterday.

The sweet card looks like something right off of her blog as does the black and cream toile tissue paper.

Inside the package was a beautiful redwork Good Morning pillow on a lovely linen fabric.

And, its companion Good Night pillow came along for the ride.

They look so sweet on the bed.

The Good Morning and Good Night pillows replace a blue pillow and make me smile just to look at them.

You might think the reds don't coordinate with the painting over the bed, but we live in an art gallery with constantly rotating paintings - it might be something red next week.

When I began blogging, I never dreamed that I would become friends with so many people across the globe.

Not only did I receive the beautiful pillows from Manuela, but Kris from Junk Chic Cottage gifted me with a beautiful set of Pfaltzgraff Pistoulet dishes ( I will write a post when I receive them) she won in a giveaway at Debbie Dos.

I am truly feeling "Lucky Me", not because of the pillows and the dishes, although the gifts are wonderful.

No, I am lucky because of all the people who visit my blog and leave sweet comments.

The gifts are icing on the cake.

  1. Carol, you are very deserving of the gifts. I love the pillows and they go so well in your bedroom. The dishes are also very pretty and colorful. Looking forward to seeing your dishes in a tablescape when you receive them. Kris is a very lovely person. I haven't been following Manuela @ The Cultivated Nest, but I will be in the future.
Yes, I have met so many wonderful blogging friends too. I was getting a little depressed before I started blogging, as I live alone and getting older. My friend Phyllis said you would love blogging - so that is how I got started and I love it. I spend many hours on my computer.
    Better get to bed.

  4. Carol,

Manuela's pretty pillows look right at home, I think, in your bedroom. I love red, white, blue and ochre together. The dishes will also fit perfectly into your existing crockery, (as they would in MINE!;-)). How sweet of Manuela and Kris; you are indeed, lucky!

  23. Hi Carol,

So glad they arrived safely! They look perfect in your room! I was thinking that if you wanted/needed bigger pillows you could take the redwork fronts and sew them onto a bigger one.

Love those dishes! They're so you and love that painting!

  25. They look perfect, what a beautiful gift. I couldn't stop staring at Steve's painting above the bed, it's absolutely stunning. I think it tones in with the room perfectly, even if there isn't much red in it. The whole room is a reflection of the two of you.

  26. Hi Carol, I think that what you are feeling is such a universal feeling among blogging sisters. I started blogging to post my crafts and to glean ideas from others. Never in a thousand years did I have any idea of the wonderful friendships that would come from this amazing media. I feel richly blessed. Oh, and your pillows are lovely, they have such a charming vintage look about them and you know that love was put into each and every stitch :)

At first glance, when I saw the pillow covers, I thought okay, will purchase! Haa.ha. Did not realize they were hand crafted. So beautiful. Who doesn't love linen .... the real stuff. I have many old pieces from grandma, auntie and even mom.
