I have been on a forced computer hiatus while my laptop was in the hospital with a damaged screen.
So, I used the time to add a little "heart" to our cottage.
I removed all the clocks on this shelf in the dining room and replaced them with my small beach pail collection.
The metal heart garland hangs on shelf year long.
The kitchen shelves were an easy fix by simply tucking hearts here and there.
The entry got a big heart
and if you look closely, there are little hearts on the cupboard.
I went a little crazy in the guest room
pairing hearts with my hand collection.
I am constantly stealing from vignettes
and the Hearts & Flowers diary is now in the living room.
It has been fun adding hearts throughout the house and I could keep going - there is still a basket full of hearts in my little garden house.
They won't be making an appearance this year because enough is enough.
In the last line of "Heart" from Damn Yankees, the boys sing, "We've Got Heart" and we definitely have "heart" in our home this season.

What happened to your screen? I hate when I have computer problems, hope it's fixed soon. Hopefully you won't need Joshua's help :) By the way your son was truly amazing, so helpful and kind when Jim and Patrick talked to him. He's got the best of both of you in that heart of his. And soooo smart too.
ReplyDeleteBTW--I shared your link on my post today.
hugs,
Leslie

I have missed you greatly, Carol! I had no idea your computer was damaged! This world of blogging, one thing that's difficult is when you don't see your friends for a while...we never quite know what's wrong. But you are back, it's great to see your beautiful, bright cottage again, and your ideas flowing.
ReplyDeleteHave a sensational day my dear!
Love those little pops of red hearts. Also love those vintage tea towels, so pretty. Hope your computer gets well soon.

Carol I love the way you can decorate with just the right amount of restraint so that it never looks cursive or contrived. Hope you have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteI need to get some hearts. You have some really sweet and unique ones and all I've seen here are cheap dollar store ones. I love all the heart touches added to your decor. Have a happy heart day on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteYou are so gifted at creating vignettes!! Love all of these! I love how the colours pop against the white background. I loved your home before you painted the walls white but I love it more now!

You know I love hearts and hands, too! I haven't done much this year with the Valentine's Day decorating though. Every photo of your vignettes is just pure perfection and eye candy.

Your photos and vignettes are wonderful...and I must say I really like you house all white...Gosh what's going on since I've painted the whole upstairs all white and its so much easier to decorate. You are definitely a queen of vignettes. It going to be in the mid-forties (heat wave) and might find myself out cleaning rip the garden.
ReplyDeleteLove your ❤️ s. Happy Valentines Day! Your place looks so fresh and inviting!
ReplyDeleteLove and lovely!

I agree with another commenter that everything looks fresh and inviting, plus the white roses are perfect. Then, you surprised me at the end with the different colored flowers that were not red. Lovely and now my day starts with joy.
