I was sewing last night, thinking about how long it has been since I have written a post and noticing how time slips away.
It's been one of those weeks where I have only done little things
like slapping a coat of green paint on an old window frame
and adding greenery to a wire wreath.
I'm still organizing the house after having 3 rooms painted
and hung my favorite hand on the wall - IG friends were unanimous that I should keep the hand at an angle.
A year ago I took a felting class and made the little black cat
and the other night I got out the felting supplies to try my hand at mice - hey, it's a first attempt!
I used some old book pages and my metal stencils
to create a B O O banner
and took apart three necklaces
to create a rustic garland
to embellish the Halloween display in the guest room.
My favorite addition to the decor is a 1944 edition of the Tales of Edgar Allan Poe that I found in the attic.
I also found my little hedgehog in the attic
and added him to a bouquet of tulips in the entry.
and there's that wreath all finished.
Time has gotten away with me again this morning
and Steve & Lulu are telling me that it's time to get outside and enjoy the gorgeous fall day.
Well, you did gets lots of "little things" done-as you like to call them.
ReplyDeleteYou know what is really refreshing here? To see tulips in the fall mix of things. I love it! It is unexpected and fun. That little mouse is really cute. I have always wanted to try my hand at felting and I LOVE the cat!!!!
Have a wonderful weekend-the little thing I am working on is getting rid of this sinus crap. lol Wish me luck! xo Diana
You got a lot more crafting done than I did for sure! Love the felted animals. I have a box of wool felt I never have gotten around to using. Got rid of all my fabric when I moved here. Just don't have the room.

It's always a pleasure to visit as you are always changing things and there are new things to see, like the little hedgehog attic discovery. Everything looks good against your white walls.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are being creative...I love your little mouse...and fall is too short not to be outside enjoying it!

ReplyDeleteI love the little felted animals and I think you did a great job on them! I always enjoy your great vignettes. I need to find one area of my home that is fun to decorate and change up without changing the whole house. I think I'll miss out on Halloween decor this year but there is always next year!!
ReplyDeleteI think you had a very productive week! Love all your little vignettes and that mouse is adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou accomplished quite a bit in my opinion. An adorable felted mouse, great BOO banner, hanging things on the wall, painting a window.... So much fun visiting you every time...

Good morning my friend...
ReplyDeleteI had Thursday and Friday off and I don't even know where the time went. I wandered around town with my camera, I did NOTHING of great importance, and I had to remind myself on several occasions during these two days that it was OK to do nothing. A Parisian blogger friend had posted about her days off one day, and that it was a guilt-less pleasure to simple BE. I think I can say that I was able to "slow down" time a little on my wandering tour on Thursday, Friday and even yesterday. I took time to really LOOK at the leaves, people, my environment. Your new white world is a beautiful place to reflect and do what you love. LOVE IT!
Your felted critters are adorable. I've never tried my hand at felting.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos as always. Thanks for being such an inspiration.

Carol, you accomplished a lot last week! Always love your vignettes! Pam @ Everyday Living
ReplyDeleteI so love coming here...your little things sure beat what I did all last week...not much of anything.
ReplyDeleteI feel better today so hoping to get more done before Thanksgiving is here.
Love your flowers in with your fall things...now, I am going to add spring back into my fall mixture...I am such a copy cat and I can't help it...when I see you do something cute, I run get something to copy you. I don't have the talent to make things pretty so I HAVE to copy those that do. xoxo
Hope your week is going to be good...
OOO, and your little mouse is adorable...as is your little wire and flower wreath..i wonder if I cam make a wreath like that....hmmmm
