It didn't take much to make me smile this week . . .
a gorgeous Double Delight rose captured on a morning walk . . .
an old box
to which I added a vintage look handle, meaningless numbers and greenery . . .
primary colors throughout the house . . .
setting the table for an evening with friends - metal initials were tied to sprigs of rosemary to indicate seat assignments . . .
flowers in the garden . . .
a sweet gift from a friend
who found the mirror and said it had to be mine because it had my initials . . .
flowers sitting on a garden bench waiting to be planted . . .
and the unexpected spotting of the Goodyear Blimp escaping into the clouds.
What made you smile this week?

Double Delights have been my favorite rose since way back when... hardy as heck, and a scent to die for!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy life!
Great things to put a smile on your face - and mine. I love the blimp photo!
ReplyDeleteBest & Bisous,
Michelle from Simply Santa Barbara
That was indeed a very beautiful gift from your friend :)
ReplyDeleteWhat made me smile this week? YOU.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being such a great friend.
NOW, for your beautiful inspiration! What lovely things, Carol. That double rose, what a delicious combination of colors, that table setting with the rosemary, so generous in beauty.
WE ARE HAVING FUN with the simple things. Another thing that made me smile? I FOUND THREE, antique French chairs in the TRASH as I was out taking photos. I am SO excited. One of them I'm keeping in the natural wood, the other two will be painted Annie Sloan white and for a very affordable price, I will have the rush seats redone. YAHOOOO!
Beautiful photos, Carol. I can see why they made you smile. And by the way, I love meaningless numbers on things, for some reason they just add a lot of charm. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour last photo. I love little pathways. Deb
ReplyDeleteOh my, so easy to see why you smiled and found so much joy this week.
ReplyDeleteSo fun to see what pretties you have.
They are all treasures but the daisy Americana themed arrangement caught my eye!
Lovely to have you join us at TOHOT!
Have a good weekend,
Jemma
Carol, Loved seeing the things that made you smile. That ocean view would do it for me.:) I smiled when the storms passed , my families were safe and we didn't have damage to our home. I am blessed. Wishing you more wonderful reasons to smile, bless you, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeletep.s. that rose is beautiful.
Such a colorful life you lead! Love your pretty new mirror. And the sea view is wonderful. This is a great way to look back on the week. Very cheery!

Those are lovely things to smile at! The rose is so unusual, your table is so beautifully decorated and the stocks must smell heavenly. We heard a nightingale this week that did make me smile! Sarah x
ReplyDeleteAll these made me smile, too. Gosh I wish I could just walk out on the beach each day. How nice!
ReplyDeleteThe sun came out today and I smiled. Had a lovely dinner with a long-time friend who's moved to Florida and I smiled. And I puttered around the house and garden - and I smiled!
ReplyDeleteCarol sounds like you were in a state of bliss all week. Always enjoy when you share your adventures and changes to your cottage. Love your sweet yellow box. I've been smiling and laughing all week ... It's been a delightful week.

Carol, those things you shared brought a smile to my face. I enjoyed coming home after a week in the Pacific NW, love to travel but home is always the best. We have regular Goodyear blimp visits since we have a large Goodyear plant in our city! Pam @ Everyday Living
ReplyDeleteI smiled at your post - such beautiful pictures and items.
ReplyDeleteYour home is always so lovely with all your pretties around.
How great to walk on the beach at night. Have a great week. I understand there is more HOT weather coming.

Reading this post has made me happy!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Carol, One thing that makes me smile is visiting your blog :) I pretty much wear a smile all the time, it's the things that don't make me smile that are far and in between and that is as Martha would say, "A Good Thing". I just purchased a little bundle of old drawer pulls at a yard sale, yesterday morning. Love your wooden box and just might have to try making one, myself. You are always inspiring new ideas, thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat made me smile most was the surprise my daughter gave me by showing up at Outback from Alabama unexpectedly with a bouquet of flowers. I had not seen her since September.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely...
ReplyDeleteTitti
Your darling cottage and beautiful gardens would put a smile on my face each new day, for sure!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Hi Carol, love the things that made you happy. They made me happy too. Loving the mirror.
ReplyDeleteBeen missing from blogging for a while but I'm back
Cindy
I LOVE the mirror! It's so stunning :) And I love taking walks along the seashore (or in our case, along the beach on Lake Michigan).
ReplyDeleteWow, that rose is just amazing. Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour post made me smile Carol. So beautiful every picture. Such pretty things to look at and make you smile.
ReplyDeleteHappy new week my friend. That mirror is killer and your initials it is meant to be!
Kris
All those things would make me smile, too! Even just seeing the photos on your blog made me smile. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love many of the things that made You smile this week, including the CC on your new 'vintage' mirror! Also, the fact that my 30 day lab report showed that I actually have a little bit of iron in my blood again, still a long way to go but I am feeling better! That made me smile!!! Have a blessed week! Cindy xo
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful...
ReplyDeleteI love it.
All the things that make you smile, makes me smile, too...colors, flowers, marshmallow clouds against a blue sky (got some good photos of them today).....life is good
ReplyDeleteYour lovely posts make me smile! I too am smiling at the flowers that are blooming here and there in my garden!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't take a lot to make me smile either Carol. Meaningless numbers will do it every time. ;) Love all of your happy photos!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
This gorgeous post makes me smile! Thank you for sharing it at Thoughts of Home on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteYour post is very interesting and all the pictures are too gorgeous. Pathways. mirror, rose, amazing table everything is truly a source of inspiration. Looking forward for more insightful posts. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThe idea to use rosemary and letters as place markers is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm behind in reading again but what's making me smile is being back on 8 hour days instead 10 hour days. I'll miss my Fridays off but that's okay I'll just take a personal or vacation day. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love that Double Colored rose. Gorgeous.
Keep smiling makes it people wonder what you're thinking
