I have always loved numbers -
perhaps it's the teacher in me.
I didn't realize how many numbers I have and how much they show up in my decorating until I decided to put numbers on the mantel yesterday.

and all of the items on the mantel were first pinned onto the number board and then purchased or made.
With the mantel finished, I went around the house snapping pictures of numbers ~
on the porch . . .
in the entry . . .
in the bedroom . . .
in my creative space . . .
and even the bathroom.
Earlier this month I realized that I have a "heart" problem

ReplyDeleteMerle.....................
It is cute seeing the numbers all around your house. I like the hearts too. LOL, I do not see it as a problem though. Have a happy week ahead!
ReplyDeleteI don't see a problem....just a charming cottage full of things you love. Your numbers, hearts, and hands are such amazing collections and I never tire of looking at them. In fact, I shared your home with my sister recently because she loves color and whimsy and your home came to mind. She loved it! Have a blessed Monday.....Vicky
ReplyDeleteYou have left some lovely comments on my blog - I wanted to come by and view your blog - and I am amazed I haven't found you sooner...I am a new bloglovin' follower!! I tried to comment from there, but it wouldn't let me not sure why! I am enjoying your posts and love that you live at the beach - it's my favourite place to be!
ReplyDeleteoh, i enjoy hearts & numbers they work so well in your home & your decor. keepers for sure. maybe you might say a bit vintage with lots of funk. beachy too. awesome in my book. ( :
ReplyDeleteWow! I love all your numbers! The patio with all the nautical stuff is fabulous!!!! I want, I want, I want. Do you have a shop?
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean; since I was a child, numbers for me had "genders." I know, sounds totally BIZZARE!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut for me, the digit "2" is feminine, while "3", "8" "11" are masculine. I have a linguistically hooked brain and think of numbers in terms of gender AND NUMBER of course, but that's the only purpose they served because later in life, I'd have a horrible time in math!
I love this post, Carol. Being a teacher sure helps us see life in all sorts of interesting dimensions! Happy day! Anita
I like em! We have numbers on a few things in our house. The funny thing is that when guests come they always ask us if the numbers mean something. It seems to bother a couple of my friends. Oh well. :)
ReplyDeleteCarol I love all your numbers. Actually I love all your collections, hearts, numbers they are all beautiful and express you and your lovely beach home.
ReplyDeleteKris
Hearts, numbers; how many other collections will you discover, I wonder. What fun, Carol!
ReplyDeleteKaren
I love the graphic appeal of numbers , and hearts are just plain cute. Throw letters in there for me... I guess it stems from a love affair with the written word, but I always want to buy them and numbers, also. Looking around here I see old signs... Lots and lots and lots of them!
ReplyDeleteSeeing all that wonderfulness in your house, I could definitely live there!
xo

A fun post of numbers throughout your house. It must be the teacher in you, I don't think there are any numbers visible in our home.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Something about them makes me smile. Love 'em all.
ReplyDeleteThe numbers make such a statement in your home. I love them all and the hearts also! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun post with numbers. It must be the teacher in you...
ReplyDeleteit's been awhile since i visited, so I wanted to stop by and say hi.
I love your collections! Hearts, hands, numbers, letters, colors...it's all good. :-)
ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteI love all your numbers and how they are displayed. I too have a thing with numbers. I collect number 9 because it always factors into important memories of John and I. But I also have a special liking for 5.
Thanks for sharing all the wonderful number displays.
XO,
Vera
Hearts and numbers - what great collectibles. I'm drawn to letters, but don't have many in my home. Need to spend more time looking.
ReplyDeleteCharming displays.
I don't know why, but I am so attracted to pieces with numbers. And I'm so glad you shared your display because I never know how to incorporate them. They add such a fun, eclectic element to the home and I especially like dishes with numbers. BTW--thank you for all your support Carol. It means a lot right now, crazy exciting, times for sure...but it helps to have friends like you!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun post! I love the numbers too! Happy new week! xx Holly
ReplyDeleteI was just talking to my husband about the love of #'s everywhere now - I really don't get it. If it's a date or address - something significant to me, I can see that.
ReplyDeleteNow hearts, birds, flowers...there are lots of other things I can get excited about!
You do have a lot of numbers and hearts but I wouldn't say it is a REAL problem. I love the way you make everything look exactly like it BELONGS in it's place.
ReplyDeleteNow you are being funny. Naw, I don't think you have a number problem. I love numbers too especially phone numbers. My favorite number used to be 7, maybe it still is.
ReplyDeleteIt all seems to work. I like numbers too.
ReplyDeleteYour numbers and hearts look so good throughout your home. I have no numbers or hearts - I better get on the stick and get some.
ReplyDeleteYour home always looks so warm and comfortable - love how it looks.
Have a great week Carol.
How's Steve shoulder? Hope he is doing well and not in a lot of pain.
Mary
Hi Carol,
ReplyDeleteI don't see a problem . . . your style of decorating is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I always wear a smile when I visit your amazingly charming blog. You could give Martha Stewart a few pointers :)
Keep smiling and have a wonderful week.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Anything printed with numbers or letters seems vintage and lovely to me. I have very few numbers in my house, but from where I'm sitting I can see one on an old pickle crock in my living room "3". Wendy x
ReplyDeleteI just started following your blog and enjoyed this post and your number problems. I think it's great! They are so fun and different too. Have a good week! Pamela
ReplyDeleteI suppose there are worse problems you could have :) I LOVE the clothes pin magnets!!
ReplyDeleteI think we all have your number :)
ReplyDeleteI see nothing wrong with your number collection. A lot of us probably have some collections with a lot of things. Yours are very cute.
Carol...I have numbers around my house too, but not as many as you have. Oh...how I love seeing all of yours.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have a heart problem too...have hearts in almost every room of our house.
hugs,
Cindy
Numbers and I don't get along too well. I've always had a problem with them in school...they look fabulous in your home! xoxo Jen ;)
ReplyDeleteA person could have a lot worse problems than hearts and numbers! Loved the tour.
ReplyDeleteHearts and numbers are not a problem in my book, Carol. For me, you can throw in letters too. I have to agree, I think it's the teacher in us.
ReplyDeleteLove the tour of #s about the house.
LOL I was just thinking that it's the teacher in you! And one can NEVER have too many hearts!!! I need to check out your boards on Pinterest.

I love all your numbered items! I think I should use some numbered items on my own mantel giving me my own phone number... I recently changed and I can't remember it!

Oh what wonderful problems to have! I think number decor is quite unique! I'd have to start from scratch in my home to achieve the same look.
ReplyDeleteI did not know you were on pinterest so I'm following you now!
Hi Carol. Oh my, you have a lovely collection of numbers at your house. Sometimes I come across numbers at garage sales or flea markets and always feel like buying them. I love collecting special numbers, like my children's birthday numbers, or the number 13. That's my birthday date, but more to the point, nice things happen to me around the number 13. Do you find that? Like, a lucky number? Anyway, hope you have a lovely week ahead of you with loads of lucky numbers. :)
ReplyDeleteMy...you do have a lot of numbers. Love 'em!
