In January, 2012, I began writing Art and Sand and I chose Continue as my word of the year.
in a word or words.
Intentional was my word for 2018.
I originally chose ENJOY for my 2019 word, but I realized that to fully enjoy 2019, I need to get my act together and get things in order.
My word changed to EFFICIENCY - if things are running smoothly and orderly around here,
I'll have a lot more time to play and simply enjoy life.
I like your word choices and your word for 2019. Maybe I will choose one this year, some years I do. For two years since I became a widow I have not chosen a word. I love your typewriter, we had one like that in my home growing up. My dad used it in his newspaper work. By the time he retired they of course transitioned to computers.
ReplyDeleteBuild a life that I do not need a vacation from . . . I love that!
ReplyDeleteGreat word selection for this year. I've never been one to choose a word but this year I did and selected 'growth'. Growth in many ways, mainly spiritually. If I can do that then I think everything else will fall in order.
ReplyDeleteCheers to efficiency and growth!
Your choice of words are great. I have not chosen a word as of yet. Have a blessed evening. Madeline
ReplyDeleteLast year I didn't have a word, I rather like the idea of having a phrase instead or building on your word of intentional, of having an intention. The "build a life..." is very tempting to adopt as an intention. I could not possibly manage efficiency. A friend and I have begun the year with hopes for more a organized life and are using the same strategies, we plan to touch base every three months to compare notes. Have a wonderful and efficiency filled year.
ReplyDeleteLove this!! Your choice of words is perfect!!💗

I like all the words you have chosen. Love the saying to build a life you do not need a vacation from.

I LOVE WORDS and I make my living by teaching them! And for that, I'm grateful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great word! I have so much going on in my life that efficiency would help a lot. I'm thinking of 'self' as my word since my life is crazy. If I don't take care of me I can't take care of others. Words are so powerful.
ReplyDeleteI am still kicking around a word for 2019...LOST was my unspoken word in '17 and '18....and since I am still having to concentrate to hold things together,
ReplyDeleteSTRONG...BRAVE...PLEASE...HELP...COURAGE...LIFT...so many I could use so I just wait for one to stand out and then I'll chose.
,
Great post. I have never chosen a word until this year. Self-esteem for me. With being sick and issues I have lost all self-esteem. Going to be a hard one for me

Great word! You're well on your way, too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful word choices... I think hubby and I have built a life we don't need a vacation from! We love our little home, feel happy and cozy here (even though it needs alot of work)... and would just as soon stay home as go anywhere. It is our haven and comfort. Though I've never chosen words for years, I keep wanting to clean up and clean out the clutter and things that don't "spark joy" in me... a mantra of the new Tidying Up book... if things don't spark joy in me, I want to move them out. And of course, efficiency goes along with that! And yes, I think joy comes from freeing up our spaces and minds. Hugs.. Marilyn
ReplyDeleteI like your word -- or, I should say words! I couldn't pick one this year so I didn't pick any. I had quite a selection in my head and just couldn't center on one! Love the graphics and photos you used with this post, Carol. Great fun!
ReplyDeleteThat word is right up my alley - I love organization and efficiency ♥
ReplyDeleteYour word choices are all great. I used to choose a word, but haven't done so for a few years. Once I retire from teaching I hope I'll have more brain capacity for thinking creatively other than lesson planning.
ReplyDeleteYour word choices over the years really sum up a wonderful outlook on life! I adore your goal of living a life you don't need a vacation from. Now that's a philosophy I would like to have as my mantra! Wishing you an efficient 2019!
ReplyDeleteI love your word, Carol! My word this year is potential. I want to live up to my full potential.

Hi Carol. I don't usually pick a word but even though they are just words they do matter. I guess I will stick to my word for Christmas which was joy. I am going to try to find it wherever I look in the coming year. Right now I would be full of joy if winter was just about over..Happy Weekend..Judy
