Creativity is a NEED for me.
I express my creativity in constructing a vignette
or taking a picture in the garden.
For the last few months, the guest room has been "Wedding Central" and most of my creativity has gone toward props for my son's book themed wedding.
A Just Married banner will be held by Aylin and Joshua in pictures after the ceremony
as will the Thank You signs.
My birdcage will hold cards at the wedding - after the florist adds flowers to the top.
The Mr. & Mrs. bunting is ready for the backs of the chairs.
My favorite creation for the wedding is my vintage ladder.
Aylin and Joshua had loads of pictures from the engagement photo shoot and I decided to use the photos to decorate the ladder.
The florist is creating a garland of flowers that will drape around the ladder.
We had fun choosing props for the Photo Booth and I am pleased with the chalkboard.
The only major thing left to finish is the chalkboard for the entrance to the wedding - 5 attempts have been erased and we have finally settled on a message, but now my chalk pen is dried out.
Steve is happy that the guest room is once again livable and ready for company, but he knows how much fun I have had creating for the wedding.
But, we have company arriving tomorrow so my "FUN" will be put on hold for a few days.
Oh Carol what a terrific job you have done for the wedding. It looks like you have had fun times making all the decorations.
ReplyDeleteIt will be a spectacular wedding and reception. Have fun with your company and a Happy Fourth.

As I scrolled I imagined the beauty you created at the wedding...the back of the chairs dressed up, the photo booth, the ladder, it's all like a dream come true. I imagined our ladder all dressed someday for our daughter when she gets married too. Oh, the sand pails are a treasure.
ReplyDeleteI love it all! My kids probaly won't get married...or, if they do, I don't see a "wedding" for either one of them...they're more like the "let's just go to the courthouse" type. My mother and sister and I. however, put together a pretty fabulous wedding. So there's that. (AND we did it WITHOUT Pinterest!)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing all of your creations on the day of the wedding. It's all going to look wonderful and you've done a fantastic job.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely holiday weekend ~ FlowerLady
You have clearly been having fun...it's all so pretty! :)

ReplyDeleteI am so glad we "met" how many years back now? I knew from your colors, your energy, your love for education and the sea, I just knew you'd be someone I'd enjoy. And I have, and I do. Creativity is a must for me. I wake up with words, while cooking and stirring at the stove, I'm thinking of turns of phrase, when I see a bar of light strike through the windows of my home, I grab a camera. Creativity is NECESSARY for us. Carol, the wedding is going to be so special with all these special touches by you. WE can't wait to see it all come together!!! Anita
ReplyDeleteYou are in your element doing things like this, Carol. I think it's so neat that weddings are creative and reflect the bride and groom now. They sure have changed, haven't they?
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that you point out what creativity is. I tend to think there needs to be a paintbrush in my hand to think of myself as creative. Hey, I do some of the same things you do and you are the queen of creative! :)
You've been busy, lots of cute things. You are Ms Creativity for sure! The ladder for the wedding is great, whimsical and it's so interesting they are using books as their wedding theme. So much you can do with that!
ReplyDeleteLooksike you are having so much fun. I love the theme and can't wait to see and hear more. Have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteHi, Carol. The ladder is awesome, love that you even thought to put the string banner on it - the shower pictures are perfect. Can't wait to see pics of it with the florist's flowers. You have a very lucky son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law with such a creative mom (and dad, let's not leave out dad!). The photo booth chalkboard is inviting, and the signs of welcome are too. Have I seen your guest room before? Don't remember but it is beautiful, the quilt is pretty and the shape of it is amazing. Enjoy your company this weekend.

ReplyDeleteCAROL! When I see, "Art and Sand" on my comment page or IG, I smile, I dream of your creative life. Thank you for coming by. Yes, that is a black and white checkered floor (it's just linoleum from Home Depot! SHHHHHHH!) HAHAHAHAHHAHA! But it looks like an old château floor, and I love it! See, we've made our little post-war brick house into a cottage. More on that next month, with a touch of Carmel.
ReplyDeleteOK, out to the garden I go to clean up debris from a hail storm two days ago!
Love all your creativity you share with us. Your time and thought poured into the wedding props and designs is impressive and fun. Carol I truly enjoy my visits to your posts.

OMG! I love everything you've come up with for decorating the wedding. The ladder holding photos and keepsakes is a great idea. I think the flowers will be a great finishing touch. I also like the banner you made to hang on the back of their chairs.
ReplyDeleteThis is the amazing art blog. Being curious about paintings, sculptures etc., I recently visited Indian Art Ideas, an online art gallery which consist of beautiful paintings by different famous artists.
