I posted this picture yesterday on Instagram with the caption - "Steve and I are at one month of walking at least 6 miles every day - it helps that each walk is along the Pacific Ocean".
Many of the comments were about how lucky I am to have such a beautiful place to walk and they reminded me of this bottle I have sitting in the bathroom.
As we walked through town today, I focused on my luck.
I live in a beautiful place with gorgeous views.
While many of my blogger friends are housebound, we are bathed in sunlight.
After months of being ill in the fall, I now have the ability to walk 6 miles each day.
I am retired
so I have the leisure time
to walk through town looking at cute houses.
And, if you are still with me,
I am lucky to have blog friends
who'll bear with me while I ramble on
an on.
I give thanks daily that this is our home and I know that I truly am
Lucky Enough!
What a lovely place to live. I adore those charming cottage type houses, Just the size I'm hoping to down size to. Enough space to live and easy to look after. It would make me be tidy. Lovely photos. I can understand why it's easy for you to walk 6 miles along your beautiful coast.
ReplyDeleteI too live at the beach, Carol, and I never take it for granted. I'm glad you're feeling better these days and can take, advantage of your beautiful surroundings! :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, you are absolutely lucky! Beautiful views for walking!
ReplyDeleteAnd you've got me, Carol. I am lucky to have made such great friends, loyal readers who may not come back to me when I do return, but for the meantime, as I stroll through blogland to keep the chain strong, I am delighted to see you all.
ReplyDeleteOH HOW THOSE SMALL HOMES speak to me! The little stucco cottages with the arched entrances, so much like my childhood home!
Yes my dear, you are lucky enough. PEACE! Anita
I consider myself lucky to be counted among your friends, Carol! Wow, congratulations on achieving 6 miles nearly every day! That's double what my husband and I regularly walk and, although I love our paths and the river views our town provides, your view is doubly better in all honesty. Certainly the weather is, without question! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful views. I would say you are lucky but I would also say that you probably worked hard to get to this beautiful place. An inspiration for others to see dreams and goals paying off. Such an inspirational post.
ReplyDeleteWe're "lucky enough" to live by a lake ... but it's COLD out there, lol! Still ...... lucky US!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd we are all blessed to know you and call you Friend, Carol!!! I love that you share the beauty and charm with us!

Carol,
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy your Instagram photos! Thank you for sharing, the joy, beauty and blessings of your life.
Our middle daughter, her husband and son just moved to Northern California, and although I am sad that they
Left us behind in Dallas- they are already thriving in your golden state!
Glad you are feeling better and getting stronger each day.
Jemma
And we are blessed that you are "lucky enough" because you share it with us! :-)
ReplyDeleteCarol, those shots of California are breathtakingly beautiful. I have always said that if I didn't live in Florida I would love to be in California. I love perpetual sunshine. I love the ocean. Yes, it is a blessing, and I consider myself blessed as well.
Thank you for sharing this loveliness with us!

You are lucky!! It's 17 degrees this morning here in Missouri!! I'm happy for you, though, and so glad you're feeling well enough now to enjoy your 6-mile exercise. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous (and warm looking) photos with us!
ReplyDeleteLove you Carol! Yes, you are blessed but then you bless our lives too with your uplifting posts.

Could you please send some of that gorgeous weather across the country to my house? It is so ugly here right now. I'm hopping on a plane and coming to stay with you this winter! You lucky gal!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots of your neck of the beach, Carol. Those adorable cottages would be incentive ENOUGH for me to walk 6 miles every day, too!!
ReplyDeletePoppy
Lucky indeed! Your pictures are making me homesick for the central coast.
ReplyDeleteYou are! Yet, if each of us will take the time to stop and look around, we will see how lucky and blessed each of us is! Sometimes, we just have to stop and reflect on the beauty that is America and our Creator! And, I will admit, the beach has always been my hearts home! Love your photos and thoughts today! Blessings to you my friend!
ReplyDeleteYou live my dream! lucky enough for sure.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
You bet you are!!! I was lucky enough to be able to shovel snow this morning...but at least the sun was out!! Thanks for sharing your views - it makes the winter here in Ontario Canada just a little bit better!
ReplyDeleteI'll say you're pretty damn lucky and I am glad you are healthy to enjoy it too! Take care!
ReplyDeleteWow...that is great to be walking 6 miles a day.!! Wish I could do that here...but it is too cold and snowy. So I will walk on the treadmill until Spring gets here.

I so miss living near the Pacific Ocean...you are one lucky lady for sure! I now live near Lake Erie in NE Ohio...but it's nowhere near the same. Thanks for every one of your pix of life in CA...by my beloved Pacific Ocean...I'll be there vicariously through you.

ReplyDeleteI could do with some of your sunshine, but I too am lucky to live by a loch in Scotland - great walking country too, but not very flat! A lovely post.

ReplyDeleteThis area of California is one of my favorites. :) xoox
ReplyDeleteI have just surfed into your lovely blog and have had such a great time. Enjoyed all these lovely photos. I used to live in San Diego and Long Beach and Monterey at different stages of hubby's naval career, so it is always lovely to see a blog from California. Thank you so much! Retired and living in Virginia now.
ReplyDeleteYes, I live vicariously through you in the winter! It was -3 here this morning when I woke up. :-(
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes I want to be your neighbor and walk with you. Hopefully one day soon.

ReplyDeleteKris :)
Lucky enough and blessed as well! Congrats on the one month anniversary of your 6 mile walks. That's quite an accomplishment! I have been doing well with walking almost every day, but if I lived near the beach, it would be a whole lot easier to make myself go every day! Have a blessed rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteLucky enough indeed! And blessed to be able to walk 6 miles daily. Keep up those miles.

Great post! Love the house tour! xoxox
ReplyDeleteFirst, Carol, let me say how happy I am for you that you are feeling so well. So well, in fact, that you can handle 6 mile walks with Steve. That's fantastic! Second, seeing these photos makes me want to plan a trip to the coast. That would be the Oregon coast, which wouldn't be warm like Ventura, but it would still make me happy to see the ocean again. I used to live near Seal Beach and loved going for walks there. (sigh). I loved this post. xxx ~ Nancy
ReplyDeleteGood for you for persisting with your walking plan! Like you, I am 'lucky enough'. Our beach is two blocks away, and a little north of yours, but I love it too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning view! I absolutely loved the photos above! We all are lucky to be alive and I'm glad you live in such a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteMay I just ask if I could use one of your photos on instagram and add quotes on it? :)
Oh, how I'd like a bit of your sunny blue skies. We've had nothing but gray, cold, wet days of late. Not that I don't appreciate the rain. It's just cold!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Carol. Lucky enough, indeed!
Carol,
ReplyDeleteYes you are lucky enough to see the beauty of the sea everyday and we are lucky and blessed to have you share its beauty and return back to health. Very cute houses you walk by indeed!
xoxo,
Vera
That sunshine looks so pretty. We have had days of rain and clouds. But we are lucky enough not to be having a drought. You have such pretty views. Great that you are feeling better and able to walk every day.
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky indeed, but I do believe we make our own luck – so good on you. I wish I lived where you do, I don’t, but I still feel very lucky to be able to share your walk through your lovely pictures. I hope the sun shines on you today, enjoy the walk. Barbara.
ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteI am lucky to receive your blog in my in-box. Thank you for blogging. Thank you for blessing me with dreams.

I always love seeing your pictures of beachiness! It has been below freezing for the last week but today we are heading into the 50's! I'm going to get out and take a walk and see what beauty surrounds me as well. Thank you for a lovely reminder and some gorgeous pics!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, yes you are a very lucky girl and so blessed to live in such a wonderful place on earth. Your pics are gorgeous. We are heading for sunshine this weekend as they predict the temp to be 66 degrees by Saturday. Yes, we have a few days of cold but never any snow and for that I feel we are lucky enough too.
