Thankfully, her new routine is to sit on the window seat with me in the early morning which gives me time to look at blogs and catch up on magazines before her wild antics begin.
I finally had a chance to read the magazines I received in a package from Kris of Junk Chic Cottage
Artful Blogging ran a feature on Kris's wonderful home and decorating style.
I was one of several winners on Kris's Giveaway - a copy of Artful Blogging
with a copy of Somerset Home thrown in.
I was one of several winners on Kris's Giveaway - a copy of Artful Blogging
with a copy of Somerset Home thrown in.
Receiving such a sweet gift from Kris made me want to pass on the gesture.
I decided to combine my crochet skills with the time on my hands (housebound with a 10 week old puppy) to create my own Giveaway.
I sewed 4 napkins out of 100% organic cotton and crocheted the edges - each piece has a different edging.
With the left over fabric, I made a little table runner.
The beautiful decor of Junk Chic Cottage and White Lace Cottage were at the back of my mind while I was making the napkins and imagining the napery in a crisp white vignette.
To embellish the table setting, I made simple tags and attached tarnished "Love" hearts.
I also like the look of crisp white napkins in a colorful table setting.
If you would like to win the set of napkins, table runner and 4 simple tags, please leave a comment.
I will throw some other little trinkets into the box - it will be fun to match the trinkets to the personality and style of the winner.
The Giveaway will end on September 1 - can you believe it is nearly September?

Hi Carol,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out on my two magazine features. I am so happy you loved them. Please put me in the give away those napkins are so pretty. Have a great week end.
Kris
Love your creativity! Crisp white napkins are always beautiful in any table setting. I wish I learned how to sew as a young girl... I remember my grandmom taught me while I was in elementary school and I was wholly dedicated for a full day until I moved onto something else!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! You are so talented.
Sharon
Hello,

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! You are so talented.
Sharon
OK so these are adorable! When you crochet around fabric, do you punch holes in the fabric first? What kind of thread (yarn) do you use? Am I asking questions that you've already answered? I have four crocheted-edge napkins already but I'm in need of about 12 more! Mimi
ReplyDeleteI love your Blog! Living by the ocean is my hearts desire!!!!!!!!!! I also love your wonderful little colorful cottage...

GOOD MORNING CAROL! How I chuckled as I read about you and little Lulu! teeheee..oh you poor thing...it must be like living with several toddlers!
ReplyDeleteHOW LOVELY are these dainty white napkins. There is nothing more impressive than to set the table in white linens! Since I recently received the most beautiful give from you, I will decline on the giveaway, but they will make a lucky blogger very excited to open her mail from you!
Wishing you a magnificent day by the beach! Anita
The napkins are perfect. You always stay so busy with all your projects, I don't know how you do it all.
ReplyDeleteOh my talented friend! You have created such a lovely giveaway! I am in!

ReplyDeleteI'm going to buy these magazines when I'm in the US this Fall. The shipping costs weer too high. I featured Kris on my blog this week.
ReplyDeleteGoedele
I love getting to know and love a new puppy. Soon they become cherished members of the family. I have four pugs. My first little pug was an expensive gift I gave to myself and my late husband used to say she was the best gift I ever gave myself. Now she is 8 and has some problems. I worry. My next five pugs were rescues. One of them has crossed over the rainbow bridge. I love hearing about your Little Lulu. She is so beautiful. All four of my pugs try to sit on my lap at the same time, so I have to go off in a room by myself to check my email. LOL Sprinkling this morning in Milwaukie, OR. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteSandra
I would love to win these beautiful napkins but I would also love to learn how to do that. My wonderful mother-in-law taught me how to crochet but I have never done napkins. Love your posts about LuLu.

I love the idea of those tags you made for each of the napkins. Very cute! All of your photos are great too! Your house is always so pretty and the light is so perfect. It must come from all of those bright windows and living by the sea. :-)
Have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteThe house is empty - all the little visitors and their parents have just gone down the driveway, towards the ferry and the long trip home across the mountains. It feels like a fall morning, and time to think about doing some things with friends - adult times, perhaps lunch with dear friends. I'd love to enter the draw! Thank you!
