Sometimes I just need a TJ's fix so last week I stopped in and picked up a few things I didn't need.
I love the three tiered wire shelf - it's perfect for my creative space.
Lucky me - I've been looking for some galvanized tin to hold flowers at my upcoming retirement party.
Pink caddy - hate the color, love the design, and, oh, the possibilities for the chalkboard.
I decided to follow the advice of Fiona whose blog is - Just Paint It White.
A little color change was all that was needed to work with my color scheme.
When I saw the caddy at TJ's, my first thought was "great container for utensils and napkins for the party
Where should the caddy go until the party?
It ended up on the dining room table holding flowers.
And why the one?
School is over in exactly one week!

This is absolutely adorable! I can see why you brought those things home, and I love how the caddy turned out. Cuter than cute silverware, too, plus I love the flowers in jars and the celebratory "one". Let the countdown begin!

That is just too adorable on your table in your cute dining room.
ReplyDeleteYou are so bloomin' artistic - I can't believe what you did with that caddy. And the utensils are the cutest stinkin' things I've ever seen. Love that you only have one week left - and if the caddy is any indication, that's going to be one great party!

ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteWanted to thank you for dropping by and for your sweet comments. Yea, I know what you mean we were beginning to think we were never gonna have any grandchildren. All our friends have them, but much to our great surprise......finally.........my son and his wife who just had their 2 year
anniversary in May were expecting.....so what a thrilling time, course, not near as thrilling
as having her here nearby. That is nice you are retiring and that you have a sweet friend who
will let you practice for your big day on her grandchild. We practiced on a cute lil long haired
chijuajua named Rosie for years. We called her our grandaughter dog. lol
We sufficiently spoiled her............so we are now ready for the real thing!! lol
Like your caddy painted white with the chalk board paint on it too. It looks great on your
table.........and quite unique. Love all your color..........looks so summery!
Blessings, Nellie

So cute with the festive flowers. Congrats on your upcoming retirement!!

ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteLOVE the caddy! The chalkboard front is such a great idea. I have enjoyed browsing your blog-love your colors! My husband is a composer and a mountain guy-hiker-so we have dirt and leaves rather than sand, lol! Do you live in Ventura County? We do. I just became a follower.
Best,

ReplyDeleteLove your caddy, so versatile and it looks really pretty against the Felicia (?) in your garden.
I have gardening on my mind a lot at the moment, but no time to do anything. Work is unbelievably busy and tiring - I envy you your retirement, so much time to do more stuff, but definitely well deserved !!

ReplyDeleteLove the 3-tiered wire shelf and what you did with the caddy. Did you find the caddy at TJ Maxx, too? Looks like something older that would've come from a resale shop.
ReplyDeleteI bet you'll come up with a million ideas for the caddy. Doesn't a chalkboard make everything fun?
ReplyDeleteYou know your house is so dang cute that I sometimes wonder if I'm reading a storybook. That caddy is wonderful and will be perfect for about a jillion things.
