And this is what it looks like now.
You are probably thinking that adding a dog to the photo isn't much of a project, but some projects, when done correctly don't look much different.
I emptied the cabinet and put everything on the dining room table.
Steve had 2 comments -
"not another project"!
and
"I hope that will be gone by dinner time because I am making chili for dinner"!
The interior of the cabinet got a coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Louis Blue and most things were placed back in the cupboard.
I did some editing and changing up from the cabinet contents of last week.
All the flatware is housed in pitchers to save space.
In my post, What Took Me So Long?, I commented on my lack of yellow flatware and as you can see, yellow flatware fills up a pitcher I hand painted several years ago.
Steve likes the end result and he commented that he likes the cupboard with the doors open.
With time to spare before the chili was ready, I did an easy table setting using the new yellow flatware.
The cabinet project is finished, a different cabinet is waiting for a coat of Annie Sloan in Old White and there is enough Louis Blue to paint a sign.
But before I paint the cabinet and sign, I have to show you the great package that came in the mail today.
Drop by tomorrow to see the fantastic gift I received from Manuela at A Cultivated Nest.

Woo! Hoo! I happened to check my blog roll one last time before heading to bed and was delighted to see a new post from you! I love the color blue you chose for the interior of the cabinet. It is the perfect backdrop for all of your beautiful things. The new flatware is so pretty with the detail on the handle. Flatware is something I definitely need to add to my growing tablescape collection. I only have my one set that I've had for years. I love the colored handles though...so fun! Have a beautiful Friday...:)

It turned out beautifully! And yes, you definitely needed the yellow handled pieces ~
ReplyDeleteGreat work painting the inside of your cabinet! It looks fabulous! Your new yellow flatware is really cool too :-)
ReplyDeleteThat blue is gorgeous!!! I love the whole thing! xo Jen
ReplyDeleteAh, the Louis blue came through! Your new arrangement of your cute crockery on the shelves just make me smile! Spread the sunshine and keep those doors open!

You really are on a roll, it looks great. I love the shade you chose and the cabinet looks so pretty left open, showing all your colourful pieces.
ReplyDeleteDescobri o seu blog e fiquei encantada!! Um ambiente encantador e muito acolhedor... E gostei também da ideia do armário com as portas abertas! Parabéns! Manuela

TOTALLY FABULOUS WORK! The blue interior is stunning and quite brilliant; I painted our armoire in the dining room last year and it's a gorgeous gray. But I failed to paint the interior (a very dark brown) and so when I fling open the doors before guests, they see the ugly BEFORE state of my armoire and I think one of these summer days, I best paint the interior!
ReplyDeleteI have a very similar flatware my friend! Aren't these specially designed forks and knives so much fun to put out?
HAVE ANOTHER FUN DAY CREATING! Anita
That looks adorable and organized. Girl if a man says, "I'm making chili." then you have to clean up the mess!
ReplyDeleteThe blue sets off the contents of the cupboard really well.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! That shade of blue is gorgeous and I love that the outside of the cabinet is white. So fresh and pretty when you open it up!
ReplyDeleteLove your cabinet interior painted blue! Your colorful flatware is so pretty too and I like how you have them displayed in the cute little pitchers! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat job. I love the flatware in the pitchers. The yellow pops against the blue. I also like the little drawers under tha cabinet. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteLove the blue inside the cabinet and it makes everything pops!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I love that blue! I can't decide if I like the inside or the outside better. You could have two totally different and great looks depending on whether or not you leave the doors open. So many cute things inside and so beautifully arranged. Great job! The first two photos and the comment about just adding the dog cracked me up. I was looking at both pics before I read that and couldn't figure out a difference except the dog. Love it! :-)
ReplyDeleteEverything you do looks lovely, and though I love your cabinet with the doors closed, I agree with your dear hubby. It looks great with a door or both doors open. I think it's the colors that make the big difference. Beautiful! Always love stopping in here.
ReplyDeleteWonderful projects! I am inspired to do a few of my own now. :) Thanks also for commenting on Chatty Crone's blog. It's great to meet you! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow flat ware. The cabinet looks amazing - love the blue. It makes everything pop and is a wonderful statement.
ReplyDeleteI like how you put the flat ware in the pitchers to save space - great idea. I also like the idea of the doors open so you can see all your pretties.
Have a fun weekend.
Mary
That is so pretty! I'd leave the doors open too! Love the yellow flatware.
ReplyDeletethat looks great. and I agree with your husband...leave the doors open and show of your goodies.

ReplyDeleteWant to come over and paint some of my furniture?! You are really good at it, and so quick, too. Love the inside of your cabinet and how you have all the flatware organized in cute pitchers.
ReplyDeleteso adorable! love the cabinet and all your cute items and how you arranged them. Way to go!-aimee (new follower)
ReplyDeleteI would want the cabinet doors open too. There's much beauty inside!
ReplyDeleteI love the doors open, too, the decorative items in there need to be seen! And I love the blue AS paint your used. One day I must try her paint. Glad you got it all done in time for the chili.
ReplyDeleteMary
Carol!!!! It is beautiful!!! It is not only pretty but it looks like it is going to make life easier by having it all right there! A job well done! A very happy weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteOh and I have added more red to my house! HA! Thought you would appreciate that!!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out beautifully...love how everything looks displayed against the blue!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue on the inside. The cabinet turned out great!!

Your cabinet looks fabulous. Your other half is right in that it looks lovely with its doors open showing off its fabulously blue insides and all of its lovely contents. A great project indeed☆
ReplyDeleteI thought you might be having a give-away with all the neat things you took out of your cabinet. Imagine my disappointment! Seriously, keep the doors open. It is so nice to see color! Love your projects~
ReplyDeleteThe blue really has a lovely shade.
ReplyDeleteAnd let me guess, you and your husband sit on the chairs and Little Lulu has the comfy bench?
Oh that looks so wonderful with the coat of blue paint and the redecorating. I also agree with Steve...the cabinet looks great with the doors open.
ReplyDeleteWow I wish my cupboard were that tidy.

Love the Louis Blue. I'm glad you found some yellow flatware. I really like that pattern. The cabinet does look great open. I'm not sure I have one that I can open like that!
