An invitation - to all the "Ladies of the Lane"- appeared in mail boxes early one morning
asking them to meet in the garden.
For weeks, little fingers
were busy creating.
And finally,
the day arrived when
the garden was magically transformed
into a welcoming spot
for the all the "Ladies of the Lane"
to relax and chat and catch up with neighbors.
oh dear, who snuck in a bottle of champagne to a garden party?
And now we know what the tags were for.
Everyone chose a word to designate their glass and
created their own tag if they didn't find a word to suit their personality.
Why do you suppose this person chose "Life" as their word?
With their thirst quenched, the ladies were hungry
for a little savory
and a little sweet - with mustaches because Christine requested them.
Happy Ladies . . .
gathered in the garden
to eat
and drink.
The question remains, why were the "Ladies of the Lane" asked to meet in the garden?
And the answer is, 'Just Because'.
And before everyone left, they were sure to take home a treat box.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Oh my. I'm not a lady. I do so hope it's alright that I showed up. I hurried up and grabbed some treats just in case someone decided to show me to the door. Phew. I gobbled down the food before anyone realized I was there. I think I better run. I just wouldn't look good in a dress!
ReplyDeleteOh How lovely what a Wonderful thing to do. Xxxx

ReplyDeleteThis looks so lovely! And of course there's champagne! It goes well with hot tea and iced cakes! I'm delighted to see ladies in hats. How perfectly proper. The food looks wonderful. And dear me, the last guest, the hairy one. Did she really eat all the lemon bars once? I imagine that's why she was never invited back.
