Bucket Brigade

It has been over a month since I posted so I am happy to be joining a fun group of bloggers for the April Pinterest Challenge.

Thanks Cindy of County Road 407 for hosting the Pinterest Challenge.

The inspiration photo is from Cottage at the Crossroads.

I've got a bench and lots of buckets and I knew this would be a really fun challenge.

As I gathered buckets, I was a bit surprised to see how many I have - this isn't all of them.

I cleaned off the garden bench we paid $1 for years ago - definitely not for sitting.

I usually go for reds and yellows, but this visit to the nursery was "take what you can get".

I made the mistake of taking a break and reading on the chaise - nothing else got done that day.

The next morning I began hanging buckets on the bench, but I wanted the foxglove to be the tallest plant.

I scattered buckets around the bench and filled them with plants.

My focus is more on buckets than topsy turvy, but this definition is fitting.

I was given the idea for doing something and created something my own.

I kept the bucket theme going on the porch.

I have a lovely view from the window seat,

but this view of my garden from the living room windows is my favorite.

You've seen my take on the pic from Cottages at the Crossroads - I hope you check out all the other posts.

  1. Good morning Carol! Well just yesterday after my school work, we went for a quick walk. The temps are warming, the daffodils are up, our redbud tree is starting to bloom and I thought to myself, "Today in between my teaching, I'm going to put out my first metal bucket." And that is what I will do, one day at a time.

  4. Wowza! I'm so jealous that you could create multiple spots with all your fabulous buckets and flowers. Your bench is definitely my fave with the color. Not sure that my whole day wouldn't be taking a break if I got to sit out there and enjoy all the beauty. I love it! Thanks so much for joining in and I'm so glad you're back with us!

  8. Carol, you make plain old buckets look amazing. I really like your bench arrangement and the porch, as well. I have a metal bucket someone gave me a long time ago. It is painted with flowers in outdated colors and I would love to repaint it. Any suggestions?

  18. That old bench is the perfect perch for your gorgeous flowers, especially the foxglove. I used to call them fairy hats. Not sure if there is such a thing as bucket envy but I think I have it. Great collection Carol!

  23. How gorgeous, Carol! I can't wait until my yard is once again filled with flowers. It'll still be awhile here! I can't believe how many buckets you had. Where in the world do you store them all? I only have one galvanized bucket, but I'd like some more. I suppose if our vintage shops ever get to re-open, then maybe I'll be able to snag another one.

  24. Beautifully done! Your bench full of flower buckets looks a lot more natural than your inspiration piece. I’d love looking out your window at such a pretty view!
