little things

There have been a lot of "little" things in my life lately.

A walk on the beach is always nice,

but it's even better when I find treasures.

Yesterday there were loads of rock along the shore and look what I found -

a heart shaped shell and a rare blue piece of sea glass - actually Steve found that piece.

Recently an Instagram friend, @annedease, and her husband stopped by on a road trip and brought me a lovely quilt she made.

Happy Mail always makes me smile - Melanie of Comfy House sent me a sweet card and if things work out, we'll be meeting for the first time next week.

I ordered a little rabbit from Maileg USA and it arrived in the sweetest packaging.

I guess this means that I have started decorating for Easter.

Francis of @francinaadriana on Instagram sent me a Valentine card and the envelope is a work of art.

Along with the card and lovely message inside, there was a heart balloon.

I love the name of the card company, Two Bad Mice, because Francis and I share a love of Maileg mice.

Last week I received this exciting email from Fifi O'neill and I must admit that this is a BIG thing.

The photo shoot was in November and the book will come out in July - I can't wait to see it.

How about you, what little things have happened lately?

We were just in FL and I only found two pieces of sea glass. Love them.
Our 'little' thing is kind of a big thing- we saw our new/old condo for the first time last night. Can't wait to get in. xo Diana

  10. WOW!!!!!! Carol, good morning my friend!

Isn't Francis out in the Netherlands such a talented person? Her handwriting alone is to be admired, and her background in education makes her a very thoughtful and intentional person. How lovely is that envelope! And your amazing SHE SHED was selected to be on the COVER!!!!!! YES YES YES! Well as for me, the little things are those sparks of understanding, wisdom and courage that happen in the classroom through triumphs and even "failures." On a personal note, I am in the current issue of Bella Grace Magazine! And yesterday, it was my 38th wedding anniversary with the best companion I could ever dream of. Be well my friend!

  13. Hi Carol!
What a beautiful post! It filled me with peace and inspiration. Thank You! So many wonderful little and big things have and are happening in my life right now! My son and daughter-in-law are buying a house just a mile down the road from us. My grandson is crawling and pulling himself up to a standing position. My daughter who lives in CA is visiting us right now. Starting tomorrow the daylight will be getting longer! The weather here in NJ has been beautiful! No snow! :) Thank you for this lovely post and guiding me to focus on my blessings this morning.

  25. It truly is the little things that make up the beautiful fabric pieces of our life, and just as you received a quilt from a new friend, the little things mean so much! I always enjoy your posts on IG, and love your darling light-filled home with its special nooks and crannies decorated so beautifully. So excited for you to have your home on the cover of this book! I found some treasures on a walk on a beach a couple of weeks ago, but no heart-shaped stone, and certainly that blue sea glass is a real treasure! Many blessings to you sweet friend!
