What's gotten into me?

I am literally making something every single day - supplies and projects are stacked on the workbench ready for me to get started.

Yesterday's project was to make a bag for a friend who liked this bag

I showed on my last post.

The lining for her bag is a remnant from our window seat cushion

and it is personalized it with letters and numbers meaningful to her family.

I don't know what triggered the thought to add a tag, but I like it.

In fact, I like the idea so much that I made a few more tags.

I attached one to a gift and think it looks cute -

anyone getting a Christmas gift from me this year just might find a drop cloth tag attached.

When I cut the drop cloth for the bag, there was a long narrow strip left and that strip became today's project.

I can't believe I made a Christmas project in August, but I had the time and the materials so I went with it.

No sewing,

just some stickers and red paint and voila -

a Christmas runner for the table.

We will  Eat . Drink . Be Merry - as long as I can remember where I put the runner until Christmas. time!

  6. CAROL!

What has gotten into you? Another dose of creativity from on high....from the place where dreams begin in the mind and flow out to the hands...gifted hands such as YOURS!

THAT BAG....those TAGS! BRILLIANT! And all they are are from the cloth...they are so cool. You inspired me: a project a day. For me now, especially since school is starting very soon, that will be hard. BUT I can say that this summer, I took not one but several photos a day, wrote a quote a day (some stunk to high heaven) but to engage in something creative ONCE A DAY keeps the blues or feelings of boredom away!

You inspire. AND did you see the little white bunting I had on my theatre in the video? Thanks for the denim! Love that fabric...

  23. I started Christmas shopping but I finally learned to take a large plastic contain, hide it in my closet and put all the presents in the box. I cannot tell you how many times I got things when our boys were young only to forget about it. I usually used them for Easter things when I found them.

  24. So creative! Love the tags, but I really love the runner. So pretty! I have been thinking about Christmas this year and thinking I may not decorate as much as usual, especially if I for sure get to travel to Prague. I love the simple style of this runner. Hope you have wonderful weekend.

  29. I love that table runner! I pinned it so I can make one or two for the holidays. Is the drop cloth from the hardware store?

  30. I have no doubt your friend was thrilled with the tote bag and those fabric tags are inspired.

  31. I LOVE the tags. I'm stealing that for sure! Did you use stamps to print them with? Forgetting about my brand new Christmas runner sounds like something I would do. You, however, are so on top of things. I know you won't forget.

  32. Love that you're on such a creative roll. The tags are a great idea and I have lots of leftover drop cloth lying around. The Christmas runner will add a sense of fun to your festive table.

  33. Happy Saturday sweet Carol. How beautifully the cobalt Bleu with flowers on the window sill invite in a vivid glow of intense energy ... But certainly not matched by your creative energetic soul. I love working with drop cloth, especially after it's been laundered many many times, Gotta say I LOVE the tags especially with the black ball chain in them. You amaze me with all your additions to your cottage. Always something fun being added to bring cheer to your happy cottage.

I love the table runner too and I don't think it's odd. I love Christmas and I'm itching for the holidays to hurry up and get here. Of course after they're over, I'll be itching to take it all down again. It's a vicious cycle LOL

  37. Carol, I always love seeing what comes from your creative endeavors . . . you are a true wiz of creativity:)
Love the Christmas table runner. If I made something for Christmas this early, I would put it in a safe place to remember and then forget where I put it, until after Christmas LOL.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

  43. Carol, I need your spark! I can't get in the mood to do much of anything. I have a bench that I bought at a yard sale and started painting red a month ago. I need to get back to it and I want to make a grain sack cushion. Both bags are darling and your friend is going to love it! The tags are super cute! Did you just stamp them with stamps you have? I love the runner and using the stickers is such a clever idea! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
