A Honeymoon Repeat

We repeated our honeymoon this week.

Forty-one years ago today, I married my best friend.

We were married during spring break because Steve was still in college.

We went to San Francisco for 3 nights visiting all the touristy spots and exploring the city- our first time visiting as adults.

We returned to San Diego and 2 days later headed to the eastern Sierras (Mammoth Mountain) to ski with friends.

Last Friday, we took a quick road trip to visit KC and went right back home.

Two days later, we headed to the Sierras (June Lake) to ski.

Oh, the differences after all those years:

our skis are shorter and wider - and so am I!

we have ski clothes instead of jeans

Steve fortunately no longer owns that hat!

I wish I still had that sweater.

I have no idea why I got rid of it - it took me months to knit!

On that ski trip we stayed at The Tamarack Lodge with a group of friends.

Now, we prefer to ski at June Mountain to avoid the crowds of Mammoth.

We are used to seeing snow covered mountains, but this was a really weak snow season in the Sierras.

Can you believe the crowd on the slopes?

I think I actually skied 1 run with another person!

Steve and I don't ski together - that might be the secret to our long marriage!

When the kids are with us, they try to push me to keep up with all of them, but I prefer to go at my own pace - slow and steady like the tortoise.

We stopped early because the snow was getting slushy, but we agreed that it was a pretty good day.

Happy Anniversary to my best friend!
